Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Systems Analyst to support enterprise customer transitions from legacy Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms to a modern, next-generation MFT solution.
This is a customer-facing role that focuses on understanding legacy system configurations, gathering requirements, and translating them into scalable, future-ready designs. The analyst will act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring successful platform migrations with minimal disruption.
This role emphasizes analysis, configuration, validation, and documentation rather than software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with customers to understand legacy MFT configurations and business requirements
- Translate existing system setups into modern MFT platform designs that achieve equivalent or improved outcomes
- Lead requirements elicitation sessions and document functional and technical specifications
- Develop configuration mappings, onboarding templates, and migration documentation
- Validate system configurations, integrations, and file transfer workflows
- Support end-to-end migration lifecycle including planning, execution, and post-migration validation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive clarity and resolve technical and functional gaps
- Create runbooks, checklists, and customer-facing documentation to support migration efforts
- Ensure high-quality delivery while managing multiple concurrent workstreams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 7–10 years of experience in:
- Business systems analysis
- Platform implementations or integrations
- Customer onboarding or migration programs
- Proven experience working with Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms
- Strong customer-facing experience in enterprise environments
- Experience supporting system migrations or large-scale platform transitions (preferred)
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Required Technical & Functional Skills
- Advanced requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation
- Strong understanding of MFT technologies including:
- SFTP / FTPS protocols
- Authentication and security models
- Routing, scheduling, monitoring, retries, and error handling
- Ability to analyze legacy systems and design future-state solutions
- Experience with integration workflows across upstream and downstream systems
- Analytical problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and detail
- SQL or scripting knowledge for validation and troubleshooting (preferred)
AI & Digital Skills Expectations
- Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise AI tools such as:
- Microsoft 365 Copilot
- GitHub Copilot
- Other approved GenAI platforms
- Consistent use of AI tools to improve productivity in:
- Documentation
- Data analysis
- Decision-making workflows
- Commitment to continuous learning and adoption of emerging AI capabilities
- Exposure to AI-driven analytics for validation and insight generation

The annual salary for this position is between $49,001 $90,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
