Lead Quality Engineer

Job Summary

Serve as a Lead Quality Engineer driving end to end test strategy design and execution for complex hybrid enterprise applications using automation functional and regression testing. Apply strong skills in SQL Python Java Selenium Playwright and API testing to improve product reliability reduce defects and enable faster releases for critical finance and accounting solutions.

Responsibilities

• Drive comprehensive test strategy and planning activities to ensure high quality releases across multiple applications and integration points within a hybrid work environment.
• Design detailed test scenarios and reusable test cases that cover functional regression integration and system flows for complex enterprise solutions.
• Develop robust automation frameworks using Java Selenium and Playwright that increase test coverage and enable efficient continuous regression testing.
• Implement reliable API testing solutions with Python and REST clients to validate service contracts data integrity performance and end to end behavior.
• Create advanced SQL queries and data validation routines to verify data transformations reconciliations and persistence across relational data stores.
• Execute functional and regression test suites across web services and user interfaces while documenting defects with clear steps to reproduce and business impact.
• Collaborate closely with product owners business analysts and developers to understand requirements refine acceptance criteria and identify test conditions early in the lifecycle.
• Review user stories and technical designs to uncover quality risks dependencies and edge cases while proposing mitigation strategies and test optimizations.
• Guide the team on selecting test data strategies mocking approaches and environment configurations that improve stability and reliability of automated suites.
• Monitor automation execution results analyze failure patterns and drive root cause analysis to continuously improve scripts frameworks and test environments.
• Coordinate with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate automated tests into continuous integration pipelines and to streamline quality gates for day shift releases.
• Prepare clear test reports dashboards and quality metrics that provide transparency on product readiness and support data driven release decisions.
• Mentor junior quality engineers by sharing best practices in scripting test design defect analysis and domain understanding with focus on finance and accounting flows.
• Partner with stakeholders to promote a quality first mindset ensuring that delivered solutions support the company mission to provide secure reliable and compliant financial platforms that benefit customers and society.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate nine to twelve years of progressive experience in software quality engineering with substantial focus on automation functional and regression testing for large scale applications.
• Exhibit advanced proficiency in SQL for complex joins aggregations data audits and validation of financial transactions or accounting records where applicable.
• Show strong programming experience in Python and Java to design maintainable test automation utilities frameworks and reusable libraries supporting multiple projects.
• Apply proven expertise in Selenium and Playwright to automate cross browser web testing with stable object locators synchronization strategies and modular page structures.
• Utilize in depth knowledge of API testing concepts including request response validation authentication error handling and contract verification using industry tools.
• Display hands on experience designing and executing automated functional and regression tests that run reliably in continuous integration environments.
• Bring working understanding of finance and accounting processes such as general ledger invoicing reconciliations or reporting which is highly desirable for this role.
• Operate effectively in a hybrid work model demonstrating strong communication collaboration and self management skills during standard day shift schedules.
• Show familiarity with modern defect tracking and test management tools along with solid documentation practices that support audits and regulatory expectations.
