About the role
As a Senior Manager - Quality Engineering (P&C Insurance), you will lead the quality assurance and test automation strategy for critical Property & Casualty insurance applications. You will drive end-to-end testing initiatives, define automation roadmaps, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions across legacy and modern technology platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, business teams, and global delivery teams to improve quality, efficiency, and release predictability.
In this role, you will:
• Define and execute comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, and automation roadmaps for large-scale application initiatives.
• Lead end-to-end automation testing efforts across releases utilizing tools such as UFT, Selenium, and modern automation frameworks.
• Drive quality assurance activities for legacy Progress-based applications, including functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Manage test execution, defect lifecycle activities, automation development, and quality reporting in collaboration with global teams.
• Monitor testing metrics, quality KPIs, and release readiness while providing executive-level reporting and recommendations for continuous improvement.

What you need to have to be considered
• 10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Software Testing.
• 5+ years of experience leading test automation initiatives.
• Hands-on expertise with UFT, Selenium, Playwright, API testing, and test automation framework development.
• Strong experience developing test strategies, test plans, risk assessments, and defect management processes.
• Deep domain knowledge within the Property & Casualty Insurance industry.
• Strong understanding of Property Claims processing and related business workflows.
• Experience testing legacy applications, including Progress-based and desktop applications.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database testing, PL/SQL, and SQL query validation.
• Experience implementing and integrating automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead distributed QA teams across onshore and offshore locations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive reporting skills.
Preferred qualifications
• Experience modernizing legacy application testing through automation transformation initiatives.
• Experience driving quality engineering best practices across enterprise programs.
• Knowledge of quality metrics, release governance, and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Experience leading teams of 15-20 quality engineering professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive innovation within testing organizations.
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $83,250– $131,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
