We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps / Application Release Engineer to lead CI/CD automation, release management, application deployment, environment management, and production support activities across enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in DevOps practices, release engineering, infrastructure support, operational excellence, and stakeholder collaboration. This role will be responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable application delivery while driving continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle
What you will do
· Lead end-to-end CI/CD pipeline management, release planning, deployment execution, and environment provisioning across all application environments.
· Design, implement, and support automation solutions for build, deployment, configuration management, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
· Manage and maintain development, QA, UAT, performance, and production environments, ensuring stability, scalability, and availability.
· Provide application, middleware, infrastructure, and operational support while meeting established SLA and service availability targets.
· Coordinate release schedules, production changes, deployment activities, and change management processes with business and technology stakeholders.
· Monitor production systems, perform incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and drive continuous service improvements.
· Ensure compliance with security, risk, governance, and operational standards while maintaining deployment and support documentation.
· Collaborate with development, infrastructure, architecture, security, vendors, and business teams to deliver reliable and high-quality technology solutions.
What we expect
· 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Release Engineering, Application Support, or Infrastructure Operations.
· Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, release management, and deployment automation.
· Strong knowledge of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Maven, or Gradle.
· Experience supporting enterprise applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
· Proficiency with Linux/Windows administration and environment management.
· Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Prometheus, or Grafana.
· Strong understanding of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.

Salary and Other Compensation:
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $ 74,250– $ 117,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client office in Toronto, ON.
