About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior SRE Java Engineer professional to support critical enterprise applications for a leading financial services client. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Java, cloud technologies, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to improve application performance, availability, and scalability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, automate processes, and ensure reliable service delivery in a dynamic environment.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and support Java-based applications, services, and API integrations.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Implement observability solutions using tools such as Dynatrace and ELK Stack.
- Leverage AWS cloud services to improve scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to automate processes and enhance platform stability.
Work model: Hybrid

What you need to have to be considered:
- 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with SRE principles and Java application development.
- Experience developing and supporting APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or other public cloud platforms.
- Experience with ELK Stack, Dynatrace, and PostgreSQL in enterprise environments.
These will help you stand out:
- Experience supporting large-scale, customer-facing applications.
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
- Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- AWS or other cloud-related certifications.
- Experience within Financial Services, Banking, or other highly regulated industries.

Salary and compensation:
The annual salary for this position will be between $112,000 to 131,500 per year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
