About the Role
As a Senior Java Full Stack Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and delivering scalable cloud-native applications that support critical business initiatives. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders to build modern, high-performing digital solutions.
In This Role, You Will
- Design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
- Build, maintain, and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services to support business-critical applications.
- Develop cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services and best practices for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with architects, quality engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in application modernization initiatives and contribute to technical design discussions and solution architecture.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement performance improvements across applications and services.
- Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and Agile development methodologies.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring attendance at a client or Cognizant office in Hartford, Connecticut or Charlotte, North Carolina. What You Need to Have to Be Considered
- 8+ years of experience.
- Hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience designing and implementing Microservices-based architectures.
- Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Expertise working with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
- Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL and SQL databases.
- Experience developing front-end applications using Angular (versions 13-16).
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, application performance optimization, and secure coding practices.
- Experience working within Agile development environments and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
These Will Help You Stand Out
- Experience using Python for automation, scripting, or application development.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, and automated deployment practices.
- Experience in cloud migration and application modernization initiatives.
- Prior experience mentoring developers and providing technical leadership.
- Experience within insurance, financial services, or highly regulated industries.
- AWS certifications or other relevant cloud certifications.
Salary and Compensation
The annual salary for this position is anticipated to be between $81,337 and $136,500, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
In addition to base salary, eligible associates may participate in performance-based incentive programs and other compensation initiatives where applicable.
Compensation decisions are based on multiple factors including skills, experience, certifications, business needs, and market conditions.
