Senior Mobile Solutions Lead
We are seeking an experienced 6-10 years of experience Senior Mobile Solutions Lead to drive the design and development of mobile and backend solutions supporting the Life & Annuities Insurance domain. This role will focus on delivering scalable REST API services and modern mobile applications across Android and iOS platforms while ensuring secure, reliable, and engaging digital experiences for policyholders and business users.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mobile technologies, API development, and insurance business processes, with the ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable REST API services supporting life and annuities insurance applications.
- Build and enhance Android applications using Kotlin, Java, and Android SDK, ensuring high performance and exceptional user experiences.
- Develop and maintain native iOS applications using Xcode and related frameworks.
- Create and support cross-platform mobile features using React Native and TypeScript.
- Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, and insurance SMEs to transform business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support insurance business functions including policy administration, claims, billing, servicing, and customer engagement.
- Perform code reviews and champion development best practices, including performance optimization, security, and maintainability.
- Develop and execute unit and integration testing strategies to ensure application stability and reliability.
- Monitor mobile and backend application performance and implement improvements to enhance user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with QA, support, and operations teams to resolve production issues and optimize delivery processes.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, API specifications, and architectural artifacts.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements applicable to the insurance industry.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through evaluation and adoption of modern technologies and development practices.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development teams operating within a hybrid work environment.
Required Qualifications
- 6-10 years of experience in enterprise software development.
- Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs and backend integrations.
- Advanced Android development experience using Kotlin, Java, and Android SDK.
- Experience developing native iOS applications using Xcode and associated frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with React Native and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, application security, testing methodologies, and development best practices.
- Experience working within Agile teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
Compensation
Salary Range: CAD $60,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to applicable plan terms.
