About the role
As an IT Asset & Inventory Manager, you will make an impact by leading the governance, lifecycle management, and optimization of IT assets across a large-scale Infrastructure Managed Services environment. You will be responsible for driving inventory accuracy, financial accountability, compliance, and audit readiness while ensuring complete visibility across end-user, datacenter, network, cloud, and software assets. You will be a valued member of the Cloud Infrastructure and Security team, working collaboratively with Service Delivery, Procurement, Vendor Management, Finance, and client stakeholders to support strategic technology and operational decisions.
In this role, you will
- Lead enterprise-wide IT asset lifecycle management from procurement through retirement and disposal.
- Establish and maintain asset governance policies, standards, processes, and operational controls.
- Oversee inventory management activities to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance across all technology asset categories.
- Drive CMDB and asset repository integrity through effective governance, reconciliation, and configuration management practices.
- Develop and deliver executive reporting, dashboards, and analytics on asset health, utilization, compliance, financial performance, and lifecycle status.
- Partner with Procurement, Finance, and Vendor Management teams to manage asset investments, contracts, warranties, maintenance agreements, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Lead audit readiness activities, software compliance reviews, inventory reconciliations, and governance reporting.
- Present inventory risks, trends, recommendations, and improvement opportunities to client and organizational leadership.
- Identify and implement automation, process optimization, and continual improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and asset visibility.

What you need to have to be considered
- 8+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, Infrastructure Operations, or Inventory Management within enterprise environments.
- 5+ years of experience managing large-scale asset inventories across multiple technology domains.
- Strong expertise in IT Asset Management (ITAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Configuration Management (CMDB), and IT Service Management (ITSM).
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITAM/CMDB or comparable enterprise asset management platforms.
- Experience with SCCM/MECM, Microsoft Intune, asset discovery tools, and endpoint management platforms.
- Experience managing asset governance, lifecycle management, inventory reconciliation, contract administration, warranty tracking, and compliance reporting.
- Experience managing asset spend, budgeting, forecasting, and technology refresh planning.
- Experience developing executive dashboards, reporting, and inventory analytics to support business and operational decisions.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure Managed Services, cloud environments, datacenter operations, endpoint management, and vendor management practices.
- Experience supporting internal and external audits, software license compliance reviews, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting multi-site, multi-region enterprise environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.

- Experience supporting government, healthcare, manufacturing, or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Experience managing inventories exceeding 5,000 assets across multiple sites, regions, or business units.
- Knowledge of ITIL, asset governance frameworks, and enterprise CMDB best practices.
- Experience implementing automation or process improvement initiatives within asset management functions.
- Experience working within large-scale managed services or outsourcing environments.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until September 14, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $83,000 - $92,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
