Job Role: Infrastructure Architect
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Job Summary
Infrastructure Architect role in a global organization responsible for designing and optimizing secure scalable virtual desktop and productivity platforms using Citrix VAD Kofax Transformation Modules and Microsoft 365. The architect will ensure robust messaging migration and security capabilities that enable efficient hybrid work support reliable reporting needs and enhance business continuity for diverse stakeholders across the enterprise.
Responsibilities
- Design end to end virtual desktop infrastructure solutions using Citrix VAD that provide secure reliable and high performance access for hybrid workforce across global business units
- Architect integrated Microsoft 365 messaging environments that ensure seamless email calendaring and collaboration experiences while meeting stringent enterprise reliability expectations
- Plan and execute complex Microsoft 365 messaging migration initiatives that minimize downtime protect data integrity and support smooth transition from legacy platforms to modern cloud services
- Implement comprehensive Microsoft 365 security configurations that strengthen identity protection data loss prevention and threat management in alignment with organizational risk posture
- Administer Microsoft 365 environments by monitoring capacity optimizing configurations and managing service health to maintain consistent performance and user satisfaction
- Design and maintain Kofax Transformation Modules solutions that automate document capture and data extraction workflows improving processing accuracy and reducing manual effort for business operations
- Collaborate with application security and network teams to align infrastructure designs with enterprise architecture standards ensuring that platforms are interoperable resilient and future ready
- Develop detailed technical documentation including architecture diagrams configuration standards and operational runbooks that support effective support and knowledge transfer within infrastructure teams
- Analyze capacity performance trends and incident patterns across VDI and messaging systems to proactively identify optimization opportunities that improve availability scalability and user experience
- Coordinate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and design infrastructure components that support reliable regular reporting while ensuring data quality and timely access
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging infrastructure technologies and Microsoft 365 capabilities recommending practical enhancements that advance productivity and sustainability goals
- Ensure that designed solutions comply with regulatory requirements internal security policies and data protection standards thereby supporting organizational trust and broader societal expectations for responsible technology use
- Provide expert level guidance to operations teams on incident resolution change implementation and best practices so that day to day activities remain stable and aligned with architectural intent
Qualifications
- Demonstrate strong experience in designing and delivering large scale Citrix VAD based virtual desktop infrastructure with a track record of stable production deployments over many years
- Show deep hands on proficiency in Microsoft 365 messaging migration security and administration including complex tenant configurations hybrid connectivity and advanced policy management
- Bring solid practical experience with Kofax Transformation Modules for designing document transformation workflows tuning extraction rules and integrating with downstream enterprise applications
- Exhibit familiarity with reporting needs in enterprise environments including designing infrastructure that supports scheduled reporting processes and dependable access to structured information
- Apply advanced knowledge of networking storage virtualization and identity services to create cohesive infrastructure architectures that support hybrid work models without requiring travel
- Use strong analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions that prevent recurrence and support business continuity
- Communicate clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders translating architectural decisions into understandable outcomes that highlight value for the organization and for wider society through reliable digital services
Certifications Required
Preferred certifications include Citrix Certified Associate Virtualization and Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administrator Expert.

The annual salary for this position is between $95,000- $110,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
