We are seeking a Senior Test Manager to lead large-scale enterprise quality engineering and digital transformation initiatives. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy, driving our next-generation quality engineering roadmap with a heavy emphasis on Test Automation, DevOps, and Generative/Agentic AI across complex insurance and retirement systems.
In this role, you will
- Defining program scope and objectives: Setting clear goals, timelines, and deliverables that align with business objectives.
- Managing cross-team dependencies: Coordinating with various teams to ensure seamless integration and collaboration.
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks: Developing strategies to address potential risks and issues.
- Stakeholder management: Collaborating with engineering, product, and leadership teams to align goals and resolve conflicts.
- Risk management: Proactively identifying, assessing, and managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Communication: Delivering clear updates to technical and non-technical audiences across all levels.
- Leadership: Building strong relationships with stakeholders across engineering, product, design, marketing, legal, and other business units.
Work model

What you need to have to be considered
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in Quality Engineering (QE), Test Architecture, and Test Automation, with a proven track record of leading large-scale enterprise testing transformations and quality assurance programs.
- Strong knowledge of modern QE practices, including shift-left testing, CI/CD integration, DevOps, test observability, quality metrics, and AI-assisted software delivery.
- Proven ability to define and execute Quality Engineering strategies, automation roadmaps, governance models, and best practices, while leading globally distributed teams and delivering measurable improvements in productivity, quality, release velocity, and cost efficiency.
- Demonstrated success in driving end-to-end program delivery, including non-production environment management, test data management, UAT coordination, production readiness validation, deployment support, and post-production verification for strategic enterprise initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of modern QE practices, including shift-left testing, CI/CD integration, DevOps, test observability, quality metrics, and AI-assisted software delivery.
- Hands-on expertise in Generative AI and Agentic AI, including Prompt Engineering, RAG, AI-powered test automation, and leveraging AI for intelligent test design, execution optimization, root cause analysis, and defect prediction.
- Technical proficiency in Java, Selenium, Playwright, API Automation, and implementation of scalable, reusable, and AI-enabled test automation frameworks.
- Understanding of LLM ecosystems and AI platforms, including Azure OpenAI, LangChain, LangGraph, GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, and related AI orchestration frameworks.

Total compensation
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 110,000 – 141,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
