About the Role
As a SCCM & Intune Migration Engineer, you will make an impact by driving enterprise endpoint modernization initiatives and leading the migration from traditional Microsoft SCCM/MECM environments to Microsoft Intune and cloud-based endpoint management solutions. You will be responsible for assessing current-state infrastructure, designing migration strategies, implementing co-management and cloud-native device management, and supporting large-scale device transformation programs. You will collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Azure, Active Directory/Entra ID, Networking, Service Desk, Desktop Engineering, and Application teams to deliver secure, scalable, and modern endpoint management services.
In this role, you will
- Assess existing SCCM/MECM environments, including infrastructure, device management, application deployment, software updates, compliance policies, security controls, and operational processes.
- Develop and execute the migration strategy and roadmap for transitioning from SCCM/MECM to Microsoft Intune and cloud-based endpoint management.
- Design the target-state endpoint management architecture leveraging Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Autopilot, Conditional Access, Microsoft Defender, and related Microsoft cloud technologies.
- Configure and manage SCCM-Intune Co-management and oversee the transition of endpoint management workloads from SCCM to Intune.
- Lead the migration of device configurations, compliance policies, security baselines, applications, scripts, software updates, and endpoint security controls to Intune.
- Implement Microsoft Entra ID Join/Hybrid Join and Windows Autopilot solutions to support modern device provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Perform application compatibility assessments and develop remediation strategies for applications requiring modernization or repackaging.
- Plan and execute pilot deployments, migration waves, and phased device migrations while minimizing business disruption and operational risk.
- Establish migration governance, standards, risk management processes, and success metrics to support enterprise migration objectives.
- Develop KPI reporting, migration dashboards, and executive-level status reporting to track migration progress, compliance, risks, and operational readiness.
- Create architecture documentation, solution designs, runbooks, SOPs, migration procedures, rollback plans, and operational handover materials.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Azure, Network, Service Desk, Desktop Engineering, and Application teams throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Lead knowledge transfer, post-migration hypercare, operational stabilization, and transition activities for support teams.
- Develop and execute SCCM infrastructure rationalization and decommissioning plans following successful migration completion.

What you need to have to be considered
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise endpoint management and workplace technology environments.
- Strong expertise with Microsoft SCCM/MECM, Microsoft Intune, and SCCM-Intune Co-management.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Hybrid Join, Conditional Access, and Azure services.
- Experience architecting and implementing Windows Autopilot and modern endpoint management solutions.
- Strong PowerShell scripting, automation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with application packaging, deployment, software distribution, and patch management.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, endpoint security, compliance, and Zero Trust principles.
- Experience leading large-scale SCCM-to-Intune migration or endpoint modernization initiatives.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and solution design skills.

- Experience designing enterprise-scale endpoint management and Modern Workplace architectures.
- Experience developing migration factories, governance frameworks, and migration wave strategies.
- Experience with KPI reporting, executive communications, hypercare management, and operational transformation.
- Experience decommissioning legacy SCCM environments following cloud migration initiatives.
- Microsoft certifications in Intune, Endpoint Administration, Azure, Microsoft 365, or Security.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until October 15, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $100,000 - $115,000 USD depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
