Technology Analyst – Data Focus
About the role
As a Technology Analyst – Data Focus, you will make an impact by translating complex business needs into scalable, data-driven solutions for large and strategic initiatives. You will be a valued member of the data and technology team, working closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to design and deliver secure, high-quality data solutions that enable informed decision-making.
In this role, you will:
- Partner with business leaders and product owners to define data-driven outcomes, KPIs, and reporting requirements for complex initiatives
- Lead requirements for large, data-intensive programs, translating business needs into clear functional and non-functional specifications for data platforms and pipelines
- Drive end-to-end data mapping, modeling, and lifecycle design across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy, lineage, and traceability
- Define data quality rules, governance controls, and monitoring frameworks to ensure reliable and compliant data solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, architecture, QA, and operations) to ensure successful delivery, validation, and continuous improvement

What you need to have to be considered:
- 6–10+ years of experience in technology analysis, business systems analysis, or data-focused roles
- Proven experience working on data-intensive projects, such as data platforms, migrations, or cross-domain integrations
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data lifecycle, and data integration concepts
- Hands-on experience with data mapping, transformation, and profiling across multiple systems
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models with cross-functional teams
These will help you stand out:
- Familiarity with SQL or similar data analysis tools to validate data assumptions and mappings
- Experience with data governance, lineage, and regulatory/compliance requirements
- Exposure to modern data architectures (e.g., cloud platforms, lakehouse)
- Strong facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience mentoring junior analysts and contributing to best practices and standards

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between CAD 88,000 - CAD 138,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
