Sr. Developer

Job Summary

Serve as a senior developer specializing in Tableau and Superset and ANSI compliant database solutions designing and optimizing robust analytical assets that empower data driven decision making across the enterprise. Collaborate with cross functional teams in a hybrid work model to transform complex data into trusted insights ensuring high performance quality and scalability in a modern business environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Tableau dashboards and workbooks and Superset that transform complex data into clear visual stories supporting critical business decisions by diverse stakeholder groups in a hybrid work environment
• Optimize SQL and ANSI SQL queries across relational databases to ensure reliable performance reduced latency and efficient resource usage for high volume analytical workloads in day to day operations
• Collaborate with product owners analysts and business partners to translate ambiguous reporting needs into well defined technical specifications and intuitive Tableau solutions that align with enterprise objectives
• Implement robust data models and semantic layers in the database environment that standardize metrics and dimensions ensuring consistency and trust across self service analytics and regulatory reporting
• Perform detailed data profiling and validation activities to identify data quality issues drive remediation actions with source system owners and maintain high data integrity for downstream Tableau content
• Establish and maintain reusable Tableau templates calculated fields and shared data sources that accelerate development enhance usability and promote adoption of common analytics patterns across teams
• Document technical designs data flow diagrams and implementation details in a clear and maintainable manner that supports effective knowledge transfer onboarding and long term platform sustainability
• Coordinate and perform unit testing system testing and user acceptance support for Tableau and SQL deliverables ensuring that each release meets functional requirements and performance expectations
• Automate recurring reporting processes through parameterized Tableau workbooks and scheduled database jobs to minimize manual effort reduce operational risk and improve timeliness of information delivery
• Work closely with infrastructure and database administration teams to monitor resource utilization tune database structures and plan capacity that supports stable and scalable analytics solutions
• Provide guidance to junior developers and analysts on Tableau design standards query optimization techniques and data interpretation practices that foster a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning
• Engage with cybersecurity and compliance partners to implement appropriate data access controls row level security strategies and audit mechanisms that protect sensitive information while enabling responsible insight generation
• Continuously investigate emerging features in Tableau and modern database technologies conducting proofs of concept that demonstrate potential value and recommending actionable enhancements to the analytics ecosystem

Qualifications

• Possess six to eight years of professional experience in data intensive development roles with a clear track record of delivering reliable business intelligence solutions in complex organizational settings
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Tableau including calculated fields level of detail expressions parameters actions and performance optimization techniques tailored for large and diverse datasets
• Exhibit strong hands on expertise in ANSI compliant SQL for querying transforming and aggregating data across multiple relational database platforms while adhering to best practices in readability and maintainability
• Apply solid knowledge of relational database concepts including indexing strategies normalization principles and query execution behavior to design structures that support both operational and analytical use cases
• Utilize experience with database tools for performance monitoring query plan analysis and resource management to diagnose bottlenecks and implement effective remediation strategies
• Communicate technical concepts data findings and visualization choices clearly to nontechnical partners enabling shared understanding and informed decision making across diverse stakeholder groups
• Adapt successfully to a hybrid work model by collaborating through digital platforms managing time effectively and maintaining strong engagement with distributed team members and business partners
• Showcase familiarity with software development lifecycle practices such as version control peer review and controlled promotion of Tableau and SQL assets across development test and production environments
• Display strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills that support root cause analysis of data issues thoughtful design of solutions and careful assessment of tradeoffs in implementation choices

Certifications Required

Preferred certifications include Tableau Desktop Certified Professional or equivalent and any recognized SQL or database certification from a major vendor or standards body
