Job summary
Serve as a senior geospatial analyst focused on designing and optimizing map centric solutions on Microsoft Azure applying DevOps and Azure DevOps practices to deliver secure and scalable services. Collaborate with cross functional teams in a hybrid work model to transform complex spatial data into actionable insights that support strategic business decisions and improve outcomes for clients and communities.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable geospatial data processing pipelines on Microsoft Azure that efficiently handle large volumes of spatial and non spatial data for map centric applications.
- Develop and maintain robust Azure based map services that deliver reliable location intelligence for internal teams and external stakeholders across multiple business domains.
- Configure and optimize Azure storage and compute resources to ensure geospatial datasets are stored indexed and accessed with high performance and cost efficiency.
- Apply DevOps practices to automate build test and deployment workflows for geospatial services ensuring consistent and repeatable delivery across environments.
- Utilize Azure DevOps to manage source code repositories work items and release pipelines that support continuous integration and continuous delivery of mapping solutions.
- Monitor production workloads using Azure native tools to detect performance issues capacity constraints and reliability risks in geospatial services and proactively drive improvements.
- Collaborate with data engineers data scientists and application developers to define data models coordinate schema changes and align geospatial services with broader analytics and product roadmaps.
- Establish and maintain secure access patterns for geospatial data on Azure by aligning identity access control and data protection configurations with enterprise security standards.
- Create detailed technical documentation for Azure architectures CI CD pipelines and geospatial data workflows so that teams can operate and extend solutions with confidence.
- Guide teams on best practices for map visualization tiling strategies and caching approaches that enhance user experience in mapping and location intelligence applications.
- Analyze complex spatial patterns and trends using cloud enabled geospatial tools to generate insights that support more sustainable and inclusive planning decisions.
- Coordinate with product and business partners to translate location focused requirements into technical designs that clearly define data inputs transformations quality controls and delivery outputs.
- Drive continuous improvement of DevOps processes by refining automation scripts enhancing monitoring coverage and reducing deployment cycle time for geospatial workloads.
Qualifications
- Possess extensive hands on experience delivering production grade solutions on Microsoft Azure including compute storage networking and monitoring services tailored for data intensive workloads.
- Demonstrate strong practical understanding of DevOps concepts and tools including version control branching strategies artifact management and automated quality gates.
- Show proficiency with Azure DevOps for configuring CI CD pipelines managing work items and integrating automated testing to support reliable application delivery.
- Exhibit applied experience with geospatial data formats spatial analysis concepts and map service design that enable creation of accurate and performant spatial solutions.
- Display ability to collaborate effectively in a hybrid work model by using remote collaboration tools clear written communication and structured documentation practices.
- Apply solid analytical and problem solving skills to diagnose issues across data ingestion processing and visualization layers and to implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Demonstrate familiarity with agile delivery practices that support iterative development regular feedback cycles and transparent progress reporting for geospatial initiatives.
