SAP FICO Functional Consultant

Job Summary

Serve as a Functional Architect specializing in SAP FICO with focus on Cost Center Accounting Profit Center Accounting Accounts Receivable and Asset Management designing robust finance solutions for a hybrid work model while partnering with cross functional teams to optimize financial processes and support strategic business decisions across a global enterprise.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate SAP FICO functional solutions that optimize cost center accounting profit center accounting accounts receivable and asset management processes in alignment with enterprise finance strategies and compliance needs.
• Configure SAP FI components to support accurate general ledger postings financial statements and integration with controlling modules ensuring reliable and timely reporting for decision makers.
• Coordinate end to end blueprinting workshops with finance and accounting stakeholders to capture business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP FICO designs that support future growth.
• Analyze existing finance process flows and data models to identify inefficiencies and propose SAP based improvements that enhance automation accuracy and audit transparency.
• Develop detailed functional specifications for integrations between SAP FICO and supporting systems including clinical or research platforms that may use OMOP FHIR HL7 or structural biology related data models.
• Oversee configuration and testing of cost center and profit center hierarchies assessment cycles and allocations to improve visibility into profitability operational performance and resource utilization.
• Guide the setup and optimization of accounts receivable processes including credit management dunning and dispute handling to improve cash flow reduce risk and enhance partner satisfaction.
• Administer and refine asset accounting structures including asset classes depreciation areas and integration with procurement and projects to ensure accurate capital tracking and compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
• Conduct system integration tests user acceptance tests and regression tests for SAP FI and CO scenarios documenting outcomes and coordinating remediation activities with technical and business teams.
• Create comprehensive functional documentation configuration guides and process maps to support knowledge retention audit readiness and efficient onboarding of new team members.
• Provide expert hybrid model support through remote and on site collaboration with finance teams ensuring day shift coverage for incident resolution enhancement delivery and periodic closing activities.
• Collaborate with data and analytics teams to define reporting structures and key performance indicators that leverage SAP FICO information to generate insights for operational excellence and social impact initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement by reviewing production incidents and enhancement requests recommending prioritized changes that increase system stability user satisfaction and value realization.

Qualifications

• Exhibit more than ten years of progressive experience as a SAP FICO functional specialist with hands on exposure to cost center accounting profit center accounting accounts receivable and asset management in complex landscapes.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of core SAP FI functions including general ledger accounts payable accounts receivable bank accounting and asset accounting with clear focus on end to end process integration.
• Apply practical experience in designing and supporting controlling processes such as cost center planning internal orders and profitability analysis to deliver consistent and explainable financial results.
• Utilize domain familiarity with OMOP FHIR HL7 or structural biology and modelling to collaborate effectively with health or life science stakeholders where financial data intersects with research and clinical operations.
• Communicate clearly with finance technology and compliance partners using structured methods to explain design decisions process changes and testing outcomes in an accessible and inclusive way.
• Adapt effectively to hybrid work expectations by using digital collaboration tools structured documentation and proactive communication to maintain productivity without reliance on travel.
• Leverage experience in large multinational environments to handle cross country finance requirements multi currency scenarios and diverse regulatory considerations within SAP FICO designs.
