Sr Designer role focuses on creating intuitive and inclusive UI UX solutions for complex digital products in a hybrid work model. Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $110,000/Year to $130,000/Year depending on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive UI UX design solutions for complex digital journeys that make digital products intuitive accessible and efficient for diverse customer segments in the cards and payments ecosystem.
- Create detailed user flows wireframes and interactive prototypes that translate business requirements into clear visual narratives and reduce friction across all key transaction and servicing pathways.
- Design high fidelity user interfaces that reflect an established design system while continuously refining visual language typography color and layout to support brand consistency and performance objectives.
- Conduct usability reviews and heuristic evaluations that reveal pain points in existing experiences and provide prioritized recommendations that measurably improve task success and user satisfaction.
- Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and transform complex regulatory and compliance needs into simple transparent and reassuring user experiences.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams in a hybrid work setup to ensure design feasibility provide implementation ready assets and support design quality throughout build and release cycles.
- Apply human centered design methods including persona development journey mapping and scenario definition to ensure solutions address the needs of cardholders merchants and operations teams in payments contexts.
- Document and maintain design specifications patterns and usage guidelines that enable consistent delivery across multiple channels and promote scalable experience management practices.
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights such as feedback sessions analytics and behavioral patterns to refine flows and prioritize enhancements that drive adoption and reduce support overhead.
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design principles by embedding standards into layouts interactions and content strategy so that experiences remain usable for individuals with diverse abilities.
- Guide backlog refinement and design planning activities by estimating design effort sequencing tasks and aligning deliverables with sprint goals in collaboration with cross functional teams.
- Support continuous improvement of design operations by proposing improved workflows tools and documentation practices that accelerate delivery while protecting experience quality.
- Contribute domain knowledge of cards and payments processes when available to help the organization design trustworthy secure and compliant experiences that strengthen financial confidence in society.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate extensive experience of ten to thirteen years in end to end UI UX design for digital products or platforms with a strong portfolio that showcases complex problem solving and refined visual craft.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools and show the ability to manage design files components and versions in collaborative environments for hybrid teams.
- Show proven capability in planning and facilitating user research activities such as interviews or usability tests and in transforming findings into actionable design improvements.
- Display strong understanding of information architecture interaction design and content hierarchy and apply these concepts to build clear and predictable navigation structures.
- Bring practical familiarity with cards and payments domains as a beneficial asset and use that knowledge to align flows with typical customer scenarios such as card issuance transaction review and dispute handling.
- Apply knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive design techniques to ensure experiences work consistently across device types and usage contexts.
- Communicate clearly and constructively with product engineering and operations partners in both remote and office settings to ensure shared understanding of design intent and constraints.
- Manage time and scope effectively by prioritizing design tasks handling multiple initiatives and maintaining attention to detail under tight delivery schedules.
- Embrace continuous learning in UI UX practice by staying informed about emerging tools patterns and industry trends relevant to financial technology and digital payments.
