Job Summary
This hybrid role is for a senior developer with extensive experience in PL SQL Ab Initio and Unix shell scripting responsible for designing optimizing and maintaining complex data solutions that power critical business systems. The role involves advanced problem solving performance tuning and collaboration with cross functional teams to deliver reliable scalable and secure data workflows that support strategic decision making and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Design and implement robust data processing workflows using Ab Initio to ensure accurate timely and scalable delivery of data assets for key business applications and analytics use cases.Develop and optimize complex PL SQL procedures functions and packages to support transactional integrity reporting needs and high performance data manipulation across large relational datasets.Create maintain and refine Unix shell scripts to automate batch processing monitoring routines and operational housekeeping tasks in support of stable and efficient production environments.Analyze existing data pipelines and database structures to identify bottlenecks recommend improvements and implement performance tuning strategies that enhance throughput and reduce resource consumption.Collaborate with architecture and application teams to translate functional and nonfunctional requirements into detailed technical designs that align with enterprise standards and long term technology roadmaps.Implement rigorous error handling logging and auditing mechanisms across PL SQL code Ab Initio workflows and Unix scripts to strengthen system reliability and simplify root cause analysis during incident resolution.Conduct thorough code reviews unit testing and integration testing for all developed components to uphold quality benchmarks and minimize production defects in mission critical data solutions.Partner with business stakeholders and analysts to assess data needs refine specifications and deliver solutions that improve data accuracy transparency and usability for downstream consumers and decision makers.Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for database structures workflow configurations and automation scripts to support knowledge sharing and future enhancements across distributed teams.Coordinate with operations and support teams to ensure smooth deployment of releases validate production readiness and provide expert guidance during cutover and post implementation verification.Monitor daily data processing activities investigate anomalies and take proactive corrective actions to protect service levels and maintain trust in enterprise data platforms.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on standardizing reusable components streamlining development practices and reducing manual interventions to raise overall delivery efficiency.Ensure adherence to organizational security policies and compliance requirements by applying appropriate data protection controls and validation checks across all development artifacts.
Qualifications
Apply deep hands on expertise in PL SQL to design advanced database programs that optimize query execution plans manage complex joins and enforce data consistency across interconnected transactional systems.Use strong Ab Initio experience to configure graphs leverage components and orchestrate end to end data flows that handle large volumes while maintaining resilience and predictable performance.Employ practical Unix shell scripting skills to build reliable automation routines for scheduling file management environment setup and runtime monitoring within hybrid infrastructure setups.Demonstrate experience spanning at least nine to thirteen years in senior development roles focused on data engineering database programming and enterprise scale integration within multinational environments.Apply solid understanding of relational database concepts indexing strategies and normalization principles to design schemas and queries that support both operational workloads and analytical reporting.Utilize effective communication and collaboration capabilities to work closely with cross functional technology and business teams ensuring shared understanding of requirements and solution outcomes.Leverage familiarity with hybrid work models and day shift operations to coordinate activities across locations and maintain consistent engagement with project stakeholders and support groups.
Certifications Required
Oracle PL SQL certification or equivalent database developer credential preferred with any Ab Initio or Unix related certification considered beneficial.
