We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer / Technical Lead to design, develop, modernize, and support business-critical enterprise applications used for clinical protocol authoring, review, approval, versioning, and publishing. This role combines front-end and back-end engineering expertise with technical leadership responsibilities to deliver secure, scalable, intuitive, maintainable, and compliant solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience across modern web application architectures, enterprise integrations, cloud-native technologies, API development, user experience design, and software engineering best practices. Experience in Life Sciences, Clinical Development, or other regulated industries is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Full Stack Application Development
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
- Build intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces using React, Angular, Vue, or similar frameworks.
- Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations using Java, Spring Boot, .NET, Node.js, Python, or equivalent technologies.
- Implement secure RESTful and GraphQL services to support business workflows and enterprise integrations.
- Develop reusable components, shared services, and common application frameworks to promote consistency and maintainability.
- Ensure seamless integration between frontend, backend, database, and third-party platforms.
Solution Design & Architecture
- Contribute to application architecture, technical design, service decomposition, and integration strategies.
- Define coding standards, development guidelines, reusable patterns, and engineering best practices.
- Design scalable solutions that meet performance, availability, maintainability, security, and compliance requirements.
- Participate in solution reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making processes.
- Support modernization initiatives, platform upgrades, and technical debt reduction efforts.
Data Management & Integration
- Design and optimize relational and non-relational data models.
- Develop database queries, stored procedures, and data access layers as required.
- Build and maintain integrations with enterprise systems, identity platforms, document repositories, workflow systems, analytics solutions, and business applications.
- Implement search, reporting, workflow, notification, versioning, and content management capabilities.
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, traceability, and operational resilience across integrated systems.
Quality, Security & Operational Excellence
- Apply secure coding practices and industry-standard security controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Implement authentication, authorization, role-based access control, encryption, audit logging, and privacy controls.
- Develop automated unit, integration, functional, performance, accessibility, and end-to-end tests.
- Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, vulnerability remediation, and production support activities.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release management, monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
- Troubleshoot complex application, integration, database, and performance-related issues.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, UX teams, architects, quality teams, security teams, and business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and delivery roadmaps.
- Support estimation, planning, risk assessment, and release readiness activities.
- Communicate technical recommendations, design decisions, risks, and trade-offs to stakeholders.
- Mentor developers and contribute to knowledge sharing and technical capability development across teams.
Compliance & Regulatory Support
- Design and develop solutions that support traceability, auditability, data integrity, privacy, and controlled change management.
- Contribute to software validation, documentation, and audit readiness activities where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards, security requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations.
- Support governance processes for electronic records, audit trails, access management, and retention requirements.
Required Qualifications
Front-End Development Skills
- Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web development.
- Hands-on experience with React, Angular, Vue.js, or comparable enterprise front-end frameworks.
- Experience developing reusable UI components, design systems, and responsive user experiences.
- Understanding of accessibility, usability, browser compatibility, and web performance optimization.
- Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.
Back-End Development Skills
- Strong experience with enterprise backend technologies such as Java/Spring Boot, .NET, Node.js, or Python.
- Experience designing APIs, microservices, service-oriented architectures, and integration solutions.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Experience with asynchronous processing, messaging, event-driven architectures, and workflow services.
- Knowledge of API security, authentication, authorization, and identity management.
DevOps & Cloud Technologies
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, automated deployments, and release management processes.
- Familiarity with containerization, cloud-native architectures, infrastructure automation, and orchestration platforms.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, tracing, performance management, and operational support.
- Understanding of modern software delivery practices, Agile methodologies, and DevOps principles.
Security & Quality
- Knowledge of secure software development practices and OWASP guidelines.
- Experience implementing RBAC, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, encryption, audit logging, and privacy controls.
- Strong experience with automated testing frameworks and quality engineering practices.
- Ability to define and validate non-functional requirements including security, performance, scalability, availability, and maintainability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with clinical, regulatory, medical writing, content management, document authoring, workflow, or structured-data platforms.
- Understanding of clinical protocol development processes, controlled terminology, metadata management, content reuse, and approval workflows.
- Exposure to Life Sciences standards and ecosystems, including ICH M11, CDISC USDM, EDC, CTMS, eTMF, RTSM, RIM, or related platforms.
- Experience supporting regulated environments with requirements for audit trails, electronic records, data integrity, and controlled releases.
- Familiarity with search technologies, collaborative authoring platforms, document generation solutions, and workflow engines.
- Knowledge of GxP, Computer System Validation (CSV), CAPA, Change Control, and Audit Readiness is preferred.
- Relevant technical certifications in Cloud, Architecture, Java, .NET, Agile, DevOps, Security, or related domains are a plus.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, full stack development, or enterprise application delivery.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex web-based applications across the full software development lifecycle.
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Proven experience collaborating with business, architecture, security, quality, and operations stakeholders.
- Experience within Life Sciences, Clinical Development, Regulatory Technology, Healthcare, or other highly regulated industries is preferred.
