Role Overview
We are seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to join the Paragon programs hardware engineering team, based in US Florida (Melbourne). This role requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and will contribute directly to the design, development, and delivery of industrial electronic hardware products.
Key Skills & Technical Requirements
Experience with safetycritical design practices; experience developing designs for safetycritical devices operating in harsh environments.
Excellent knowledge in designing mixed embedded systems (analog and digital) with different sensing designs using voltage, current, pressure, etc.
Experience in developing boardlevel product requirements.
Sound knowledge of FPGAs, microprocessors, architectural circuit design, and different microcontroller circuit designs.
Experience in analog design opamps, signal conditioning, ADC, DAC, and filter designs.
Excellent knowledge of power supply designs.
Excellent knowledge of signal integrity analysis.
Sound digital design skills with knowledge of communication protocols UART, RS422, RS485, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, Ethernet TCP/IP.
Preferred knowledge of circuit simulators and analysis tools SPICE, PSPICE, and HSPICE.
Exposure to interfaces such as PCIe / DDRx / LPDDRx / NAND / NOR is desirable.
Good understanding of product development stages, manufacturing, EMI/EMC, environmental and safety testing, and certifications.
Experience developing verification test cases, procedures, and test scripts.
Familiar with the latest hardware testing equipment, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
Skills in schematic capture using Altium; familiar with board layout, SI/PI boardlevel interface analysis and simulation.
Knowledge of MTBF, DFMEA, derating analysis, and worstcase analysis.
Strong debugging skills and rootcause analysis.
Roles & Responsibilities
Handson involvement across architecture, schematics, layout reviews, vendor interaction, and cross functional team interaction, including with firmware, mechanical, and bringup testing.
Evaluate and define requirements in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
Support the complete life cycle of hardware product development.
Lead technical reviews of schematics, PCBs, and BOMs to support the development process and ensure technical integrity of hardware deliverables.
Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve overall product quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware related issues during development and testing phases.
Maintain accurate documentation of all hardware designs and modifications.
Adhere to project timelines and deliver highquality designs within set deadlines.
Comply with all internal and external regulations and standards related to hardware design and development.
Participate in regular team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute ideas and solutions for improved hardware designs.

$104,000– $150,000 per year + Cost of Living Allowance
