About the role
As an ITVMO Demand, Licensing & Compliance professional, you will support enterprise technology demand management, software asset governance, license compliance, and decision intelligence. You will maintain an accurate view of software demand, entitlements, consumption, renewals, and licensing metrics across the technology portfolio.
You will collaborate across business and technology teams to translate complex licensing, usage, compliance, financial, and technology information into clear business insights and actionable recommendations. You will bring a detail-oriented, analytical, customer-service-focused approach while supporting effective governance and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
- Manage enterprise software demand, including intake, validation, prioritization, forecasting, and ongoing tracking. Validate requests against inventory, existing entitlements, approved standards, usage data, and technology roadmaps to recommend appropriate fulfillment paths.
- Interpret software licensing models and conduct effective license position and compliance reviews by reconciling entitlement records, deployment information, user allocations, inventory, usage, and publisher-specific rules to identify underutilization, over-deployment, duplicate capabilities, compliance exposure, and optimization opportunities.
- Track renewals and subscriptions, create demand forecasts, and develop dashboards and management reporting covering demand, fulfillment, utilization, compliance exceptions, renewal readiness, product rationalization, technology spend, budgets, forecasts, allocations, variances, and operational performance.
- Apply AI-enabled analytics and automation to demand forecasting, spend anomaly detection, license optimization, compliance monitoring, renewal readiness, and reporting. Define, develop, test, deploy, and manage AI agents with appropriate human oversight, role-based access, data privacy, model and prompt controls, traceability, accuracy monitoring, exception escalation, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain data quality standards, controls, procedures, decision records, evidence, and audit-ready documentation. Research licensing and technology changes, partner with application owners, architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, finance, legal, risk, and other stakeholders, and support software standardization, catalog governance, rationalization, reclamation, reharvesting, and retirement initiatives.
What you must have to be considered
- A bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, computer science, finance, analytics, or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years of experience in IT vendor management, software asset management, technology demand management, license compliance, IT governance, or a related function.
- Strong understanding of software licensing models, entitlement records, deployment and usage data, subscriptions, cloud consumption, and infrastructure-related licensing concepts.
- Experience working with software asset management, configuration management, IT service management, inventory, reporting, or business intelligence platforms.
- Ability to analyze large and varied data sets, identify trends and control gaps, reconcile records, and present decision-ready insights.
- Experience with technology spend analytics, budget planning, forecasting, allocation, variance analysis, financial modeling, and executive-level reporting.
- Practical knowledge of AI-enabled analytics, intelligent automation, and the AI-agent lifecycle, including use-case definition, data and workflow design, testing, deployment, governance, monitoring, and adoption.
- Knowledge of audit readiness, evidence management, data governance, policy compliance, risk assessment, and remediation tracking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical licensing and compliance concepts to senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent customer service, critical thinking, decision-making, organizational, and stakeholder-management skills.
- A strong sense of ownership, desire to create meaningful outcomes, and passion for work that serves a greater good for customers, communities, or global challenges.
- Embodiment of Cognizant’s Values: Work as One, Dare to Innovate, Raise the Bar, Do The Right Thing, and Own It.
These will help you succeed
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex licensing, technology, financial, and compliance information into actionable recommendations.
- Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate effectively across technology and business functions.
- Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation and follow-through.
- A continuous-improvement mindset with an interest in AI-enabled intelligence and automation.
- Effective time management and the ability to manage multiple demand, licensing, compliance, renewal, and reporting priorities.
