Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Architect - AI Platforms to lead the design, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence of next-generation AI and cloud platform ecosystems. This role combines deep expertise in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), cloud-native architecture, automation, observability, and AI platform technologies to ensure highly available, resilient, and performant services at enterprise scale.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader who can architect platform solutions, establish reliability best practices, and drive automation strategies across complex distributed systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, platform, cloud, DevOps, and AI teams to build and maintain robust environments that support mission-critical applications and emerging AI capabilities.

About the Role
As a Site Reliability Architect - AI Platforms, you will be responsible for defining and implementing reliability strategies for cloud-native and AI-enabled platforms. You will serve as a technical authority for platform architecture, resiliency, observability, automation, and performance optimization while working across multiple engineering disciplines.
This role requires a strong architectural mindset combined with hands-on technical expertise. You will partner with stakeholders to design scalable infrastructure solutions, improve operational efficiency through automation, establish service reliability standards, and support the deployment and operation of modern AI and machine learning workloads.
Success in this role requires experience designing highly available distributed systems, deep knowledge of cloud platforms and containerized environments, and a passion for building resilient, scalable, and automated technology ecosystems that enable innovation while maintaining operational excellence.
In This Role, You Will
- Design and implement highly reliable AI platform architectures on VMware Cloud on AWS that support mission critical SiteCore applications for enterprise scale digital experiences and healthcare services.
- Optimize Core Java based services and SiteCore integration layers to ensure consistent performance, rapid response times and stable operation across hybrid cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain robust CI CD pipelines tailored for SiteCore workloads so that code changes, configuration updates and content deployments are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Establish reliability engineering practices including automated monitoring, alerting and incident response workflows to reduce downtime and increase platform availability.
- Analyze production issues across AI components, SiteCore, VMware Cloud on AWS and Core Java microservices to identify root causes and implement durable fixes that prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with AI developers, SiteCore engineers and cloud operations teams to align reliability objectives with product goals, regulatory requirements and business priorities.
- Implement capacity planning, performance benchmarking and resource optimization strategies on VMware Cloud on AWS to support growth in users, data and AI workloads without service degradation.
- Define and enforce coding standards, configuration baselines and deployment patterns in Core Java and CI CD processes to improve consistency, security and operational efficiency.
- Guide teams in adopting site reliability engineering practices such as error budgets, service level objectives and continuous improvement cycles that directly enhance customer experience.
- Integrate observability tools and telemetry into AI pipelines and SiteCore solutions to provide clear visibility into behavior, dependencies and health of critical services.
- Coordinate day shift hybrid operations to support releases, platform changes and reliability improvements while minimizing impact on business stakeholders and end users.
- Evaluate potential AI platform enhancements and modernization opportunities that improve healthcare claim processing accuracy, speed and transparency for members and providers.
- Document reliability patterns, runbooks and operational procedures so that teams can respond quickly to incidents and maintain consistent service quality in complex environments.
Work Model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Earth City, MO. Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience building and supporting platforms on VMware Cloud on AWS including configuration, migration and optimization of critical enterprise workloads.
- Advanced Core Java expertise to design stable services, tune application performance and ensure maintainable code structures for SiteCore and AI related components.
- Strong CI CD skills to construct automated pipelines for SiteCore and related services that include testing, security checks and controlled promotion across environments.
- Bring practical understanding of AI platform reliability including monitoring, resilience patterns, fault tolerance and automated recovery techniques in production settings.
- Leverage knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid claim processing to align platform behaviors with healthcare regulations, payment integrity needs and member experience expectations.
- Work effectively in a hybrid day shift model coordinating with distributed teams and stakeholders while maintaining clear communication and reliable operational coverage
Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until November 8th , 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $105,000 - $167,500 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
