Job Title: Manager – Google Cloud Marketplace Onboarding & Solution Validation (SV)
Job Location: Remote- Toronto, ON, Canada
We are seeking a highly technical and detail-oriented Manager to lead Google Cloud Marketplace Onboarding and Solution Validation (SV). This role is critical in ensuring that partner/customer solutions comply with Google Cloud’s technical, security, and quality standards for Marketplace publishing.
The role acts as a bridge between Business Onboarding (entity setup) and Technical Onboarding (product integration), ensuring seamless onboarding while maintaining the integrity, scalability, and compliance of the Marketplace catalog.
In this role, you will
Technical Validation & Onboarding
· Lifecycle Management: Perform comprehensive technical validation for VMs, Containers/K8s, AI Agents, and SaaS. Coordinate between Google engineering and internal stakeholders.
· IAM & Project Setup: Manage IAM roles, service accounts, and enable critical APIs (Artifact Registry, Cloud Build) within the Producer Portal project.
· Architectural Guidance: Consult with vendors on software packaging (VM, K8s, or SaaS) to meet Google’s technical standards.
· Container & K8s Mastery: Package software using Docker and Google Artifact Registry; troubleshoot complex Kubernetes deployment issues during onboarding.
· Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Expert-level use of Terraform/Deployment Manager to build repeatable, validated deployment templates and automate manifests.
API Integration & SaaS Billing
· Procurement & Entitlement: Guide developers through integrating Cloud Commerce Partner Procurement APIs and RESTful APIs for real-time billing and entitlement.
· Financial Oversight: Understand GCP billing sub-accounts and the impact of "Private Offers" on revenue recognition. Manage metered billing and subscriptions.
· Compliance: Ensure solutions adhere to Google Cloud security, billing, and entitlement API requirements.
Strategic Growth & Documentation
· Business Growth: Act as a strategic advisor to help vendors optimize listings for "Commitment Drawdown" and navigate Private Offers to close enterprise deals.
· Documentation: Document validation findings, test plans, and reports. Create SOPs for process and technical validation.
· Automation: Utilize Python or other scripting languages for troubleshooting SaaS backend integration and automating validation tasks
What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
· 10+ years of hands-on experience with:
o Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
o Virtual Machines (VMs)
o Kubernetes (GKE) and containerization
o Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
· Proven experience in technical onboarding, solution validation, technical auditing, or cloud architecture leadership roles
· Expert-level knowledge of:
o GCP cloud architecture and services
o Compute Engine (VMs)
o Kubernetes (GKE)
o Terraform (scripting, automation, troubleshooting)
o Docker and Google Artifact Registry
o SaaS application integration and deployment
· Strong understanding of:
o REST APIs and cloud-native integrations
o Data handling and datasets in cloud environments
· Working knowledge of identity and security standards, including OAuth 2.0 and OIDC
· Experience with Cloud Commerce / Procurement APIs, billing models, and subscription-based SaaS frameworks
Preferred Skills
· Proficiency in Python or scripting languages for automation and troubleshooting
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and explain technical concepts clearly
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
· Mandatory certification:
o GCP Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect
· Preferred certification:
o ITIL (or equivalent service management certification)
