Salesforce Release Engineer

As a Salesforce Release Manager, you will make an impact by leading and coordinating enterprise application releases across Salesforce, MuleSoft, nCino, and integrated applications while ensuring production readiness, governance compliance, and deployment success. You will be a valued member of the delivery team and work collaboratively with Development, QA, UAT, Operations, Business stakeholders, Security teams, Infrastructure teams, and external vendors.

In this role, you will:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end release activities across Salesforce, MuleSoft, nCino, and integrated applications.
  • Facilitate impact assessments and coordinate third-party platform releases, including Salesforce seasonal releases and nCino bi-annual releases.
  • Lead release readiness reviews, go/no-go meetings, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate deployment activities across Development, QA, UAT, Operations, and Business teams.
  • Manage pre-production and production deployment processes, including migration, business validation testing (BVT), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), rollback planning, and post-deployment verification.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate release-related risks, dependencies, and issues.
  • Develop and maintain release calendars, schedules, and deployment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with change management, governance, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with application support, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams to ensure release success.
  • Monitor release outcomes, track metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate post-implementation reviews and root cause analysis for release-related incidents.
  • Support automation initiatives to improve release efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain release documentation, runbooks, deployment procedures, and operational readiness artifacts.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring attendance in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. What you need to have to be considered

  • 7+ years of IT experience with at least 3+ years managing enterprise application releases.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform architecture and deployment processes.
  • Experience supporting nCino implementations or platform releases.
  • Experience coordinating releases involving Salesforce, MuleSoft, APIs, and integrated enterprise applications.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile delivery methodologies, release management, and change management processes.
  • Experience managing SIT, UAT, production deployments, rollback strategies, and post-production validation activities.
  • Familiarity with security validation processes, including DAST and production readiness assessments.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, audit requirements, and governance controls.
  • Experience facilitating executive stakeholder reviews, release readiness meetings, and deployment communications.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Salary and Other Compensation

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $78,000pa – $125,000pa CAD per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
