Job summary
Serve as a senior developer in a hybrid work model designing and delivering resilient Java and Spring Boot services that integrate with Kubernetes Jenkins and GITHUB to enable secure continuous delivery for insurance platforms while applying property and casualty and life and annuities domain knowledge to enhance customer facing digital solutions and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Design and implement robust Java and Spring Boot microservices that power core transactional capabilities for insurance platforms ensuring reliability scalability and alignment with business requirements in a hybrid work environment.
· Develop clean modular and maintainable code using modern Java practices and patterns emphasizing readability testability and long term sustainability to support ongoing enhancements to digital insurance products.
· Configure and optimize Jenkins pipelines to automate build test and deployment workflows reducing manual effort and enabling faster and more predictable delivery cycles for application changes.
· Leverage GITHUB for version control by structuring repositories managing branches and supporting pull request workflows to maintain code quality and enable effective peer collaboration.
· Deploy and manage applications in Kubernetes clusters by defining resources monitoring health and tuning configurations to achieve high availability and efficient resource utilization across environments.
· Integrate microservices securely with internal and external systems using well designed APIs and messaging patterns to support seamless data flow across property and casualty and life and annuities solutions.
· Collaborate closely with product owners business analysts and quality engineers to translate functional requirements into technical designs that uphold regulatory expectations and industry standards in insurance.
· Create and maintain unit integration and functional tests for Java and Spring Boot components to improve defect detection early in the lifecycle and enhance confidence in frequent deployments through Jenkins pipelines.
· Investigate troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in Kubernetes hosted services by analyzing logs metrics and traces to minimize disruption and improve customer experience.
· Document technical designs deployment configurations and operational runbooks clearly so that peers and support teams can understand service behavior and maintain continuity of knowledge as solutions evolve.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to build and deployment automation coding standards and monitoring practices that strengthen system resilience and performance.
· Apply awareness of property and casualty and life and annuities insurance processes when designing features so that policy lifecycle claims handling and underwriting workflows are supported effectively by technology.
· Participate actively in code reviews and technical discussions to share expertise in Java Spring Boot Jenkins GITHUB and Kubernetes and help the team adopt reliable patterns and practices.
Qualifications:
· Demonstrate professional experience of at least five years in Java development with Spring Boot delivering production grade services for complex enterprise applications.
· Show proven hands on practice with Jenkins including creation maintenance and troubleshooting of continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for Java based projects.
· Exhibit strong practical use of GITHUB for source code management issue tracking and collaborative development following structured branching and review workflows.
· Display experience with Kubernetes for deploying scaling and monitoring microservices including use of manifests and relevant supporting tools to manage containerized workloads.
· Bring understanding of relational data modeling and integration concepts to design services that handle insurance policy and customer data securely and efficiently.
· Present familiarity with property and casualty insurance or life and annuities insurance domains as a beneficial asset enabling more informed solution design and requirement interpretation.
· Adapt comfortably to a hybrid work model and day shift arrangement using remote collaboration and onsite interactions to maintain effective communication with cross functional teams.
