About the role
As a Senior .NET Microservices Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable cloud-based applications using .NET, MongoDB, and Microsoft Azure. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and collaborate with developers, architects, product partners, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, maintainable, and high-quality technology solutions.

In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable .NET microservices.
- Create and maintain database components using MongoDB.
- Develop and support Microsoft Azure components, including Azure App Service and Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code by following established engineering standards and best practices.
- Conduct code reviews and help ensure solutions meet quality, security, performance, and maintainability standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application performance issues, system failures, and compatibility concerns across supported environments.
- Apply appropriate software design patterns when developing and enhancing solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
What you need to have to be considered
- Five or more years of professional software development experience with .NET microservices.
- Strong proficiency in designing and developing applications with MongoDB.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Service and Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Experience designing, building, testing, and supporting scalable cloud-based applications.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented programming principles, and development best practices.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Experience performing code reviews, troubleshooting technical issues, and improving application performance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in an Agile software development environment.
These will help you stand out
- Experience with graph databases, particularly Neo4j.
- Knowledge of containerized application development and Kubernetes-based deployments.
- Experience supporting distributed systems or cloud-native microservices.
- Familiarity with application monitoring, logging, and performance optimization in Azure environments.

Salary and Other Compensation
Applications will be accepted until September 30th, 2026.
We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD $60,000 and CAD $95,000 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience, skillset, and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support physical, mental, and financial well-being.
