As a Cloud Product Developer, you will make an impact by translating advanced cloud technologies into scalable, secure, and commercially viable platform services. You will be a key member of a highly technical, self-managing engineering team responsible for expanding, stabilizing, and optimizing our client's VMware-based IaaS platform. Your work will influence the platform's roadmap while ensuring operational excellence, innovation, and cost-effective delivery.

In this role, you will:

  • Expand, enhance, and operate our VMware-based IaaS platform using technologies such as VMware Cloud Foundation, vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Cloud Director, and ARIA.
  • Manage supporting systems including load balancing, monitoring, and availability tooling to ensure the platform meets high standards of availability, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Automate operational tasks primarily using PowerShell, with Python/Ansible where applicable, and maintain foundational infrastructure services including DNS, NTP, and DHCP.
  • Work with DELL PowerEdge hardware and modern data center architectures in a dynamic, high-availability environment.
  • Collaborate in a self-managing Agile team focused on reliability, security, and continuous improvement, while participating in periodic standby/on-call rotation.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

List the most important qualifications in descending order. Only go beyond 5 if absolutely necessary. Be concise but informative.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with VMware technology, including Cloud Foundation, vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and ARIA.
  • Experience with VCD, VRA, or VCF Automation and strong knowledge of network protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, BGP, EVPN, VXLAN).
  • Strong experience with automation, particularly PowerShell, combined with practical Linux (RedHat) skills and experience with DNS/NTP/DHCP.
  • Experience working with DELL PowerEdge hardware, along with a strong security awareness and platform ownership mindset.
  • At least five years of experience in complex IT environments as a Network Engineer or Administrator, with knowledge at CCNP level (Security or Data Center specialization preferred).
  • Excellent communication and knowledge-transfer skills in both Dutch and English.

These Will Help You Stand Out

  • Deep expertise in VMware NSX and experience in scripting/automation with Python or Ansible.
  • Experience guiding or coaching technical teams and a strong proactivity, eagerness to learn, and go-getter attitude.
  • Experience in cloud development and the productization of services.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills for cost modeling, combined with an innovative mindset and the ability to propose new technical solutions.
