About the role
As a Lab System Support Analyst, you will make an impact by supporting laboratory systems, analytical instruments, and data workflows that enable critical pharmaceutical and quality control operations. You will be a valued member of the Laboratory IT Support team and work collaboratively with laboratory analysts, Quality Assurance, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient laboratory system performance.
In this role, you will:
Provide first-level support for laboratory software systems, instrument integration platforms, and related technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues associated with laboratory instruments, including HPLC, GC, and spectrophotometers.
Support the configuration, maintenance, and validation of laboratory systems while ensuring accurate and reliable data flow.
Maintain system documentation, audit trails, and data archival processes in accordance with regulatory and business requirements.
Collaborate with laboratory, QA, and IT teams to support compliance, improve laboratory workflows, and enhance system performance.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in San Francisco, CA.

What you need to have to be considered:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Internship experience or up to 2 years of experience in a laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or IT support environment.
Basic understanding of laboratory instruments and analytical techniques.
Familiarity with laboratory software systems and data management processes.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a regulated environment and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and regulated industry requirements.
These will help you stand out:
Experience supporting laboratory systems within pharmaceutical or biotechnology organizations.
Exposure to Computer System Validation (CSV) processes and validation documentation.
Knowledge of FDA regulations, data integrity requirements, and audit readiness practices.
Familiarity with laboratory informatics platforms, instrument integration, or scientific data management systems.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Laboratory Operations, Quality Assurance, and IT.
Knowledge of troubleshooting and supporting analytical instruments and associated software applications.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until August 16, 2026.
The annual salary for this position is between $ 77,000 - $ 90,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
