About the role:
As a Data Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable cloud-based data solutions that enable data integration, transformation, and analytics across the enterprise. You will be a valued member of the Data Engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, business stakeholders, application teams, and platform engineers to deliver reliable and high-quality data pipelines.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Snowflake, Python, and SQL.
- Build and optimize ELT/ETL processes to support enterprise data warehousing and analytics initiatives.
- Develop and support Snowflake objects including Tasks, Dynamic Tables, and COPY INTO processes for efficient data ingestion and transformation.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data pipelines to ensure performance, reliability, and data quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support CI/CD implementation, code deployments, and Agile delivery practices.

What you need to have to be considered:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer with strong expertise in Snowflake, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Python, and SQL.
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting ADF components including Flow Control Logic, Lookups, Copy Activities, Data Flows, Child Pipeline Execution, Script Activities, and Batch Service Calls.
- Strong knowledge of Snowflake architecture and objects, including Tasks, Dynamic Tables, and COPY INTO commands.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with enterprise Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT frameworks, and modern cloud data platforms.
- Experience implementing CI/CD practices and deployment processes using Azure DevOps.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex data pipeline issues.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
These will help you stand out:
- Experience with Databricks, including developing notebooks for change data capture (CDC) processes.
- Familiarity with Spark and PySpark for large-scale data processing.
- Experience working with Azure services such as Event Hub, Event Grid/Event Subscriptions, Azure Functions, and Enterprise Messaging Services (EMS).
- Knowledge of Python libraries including Pandas, Snowflake Connector, Azure SDK, and Keyring.
- Experience supporting cloud migration, data modernization, or large-scale analytics initiatives.

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $105,000.00 - $ 120,000.00 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
