As a Senior C++ Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting reliable C++ applications for software and high-technology clients. You will be a valued member of a collaborative technology team, working closely with product managers, architects, quality analysts, infrastructure teams, and client-facing stakeholders to deliver scalable software solutions and maintain application stability.

In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and enhance modern C++ modules, reusable components, and libraries that meet functional, performance, reliability, and maintainability requirements.
- Implement efficient algorithms and data structures, troubleshoot complex production issues, and optimize application performance through log analysis, profiling, and root-cause investigation.
- Build and maintain integrations with internal platforms and third-party services, ensuring stable interfaces and consistent data exchange.
- Strengthen software quality by conducting code reviews, creating unit and integration tests, supporting continuous integration practices, and applying secure coding standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and client-facing teams to translate business requirements into technical designs, estimate delivery efforts, document solutions, and deliver enhancements through Agile development cycles.
What you need to have to be considered
- Four to six years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in modern C++ and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, debugging, and supporting commercial-grade C++ applications.
- Proficiency with version-control tools such as Git and experience working within collaborative development environments.
- Experience with C++ build systems and dependency-management tools, such as CMake, along with unit-testing frameworks and continuous integration practices.
- Understanding of memory management, performance profiling, algorithms, data structures, and optimization techniques for native C++ applications.
These will help you stand out
- Experience developing software within an independent software vendor or high-technology environment.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, enterprise platforms, or cloud-enabled applications.
- Experience with cross-platform development or porting C++ applications to different operating systems or hardware architectures.
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and application resilience principles.
- Experience working in Agile teams and delivering incremental value through iterative development cycles.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $46,000 – $84,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
