About the role
As a Domain Strategist – Life Sciences, you will make an impact by crafting compelling, insight-led proposals and bid responses for life sciences clients across the pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, and diagnostics sectors. You will be a valued member of the Life Sciences Business Development team and work collaboratively with Sales and Solutioning teams to map client needs to solution capabilities and communicate clear business value to clients and key stakeholders.
In this role, you will
- Act as a trusted advisor to Sales and Solutioning teams, articulating the business value of Cognizant Moment solutions within the Life Sciences industry and converting client business requirements into domain-led solution options.
- Drive domain content for proposals and bids, including win themes, solution storyboards, qualification responses, battle cards, and competitive one-pagers that help sales quickly articulate differentiation.
- Stay current on the Life Sciences ecosystem of product partners and Cognizant proprietary industry solutions and accelerators, mapping client use cases to strengthen proposal differentiation.
- Curate reusable solution assets and reference architectures that accelerate proposal turnaround for Life Sciences opportunities.
- Contribute to Life Sciences practice offerings, case studies, and thought leadership, mentor junior BD and pre-sales associates, and provide market intelligence on competitor positioning and emerging client needs.
Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Kolkata. What you need to have to be considered
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or business; MBA or relevant master's preferred.
- 10-15+ years of experience in business development, pre-sales, or consulting, with at least 5+ years focused on the Life Sciences industry.
- Understanding of commercial value chains, medical affairs, patient support programs, field-force effectiveness, and omni-channel engagement models.
- Functional and strategic expertise in Life Sciences CRM platforms (e.g., Veeva Systems, Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud) and digital experience portals.
- Proven experience supporting Life Sciences pursuits, client presentations, and solution demonstrations, with strong executive presence and excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.

- Strong domain understanding of the life sciences industry and its technology landscape.
- Awareness of CX, CRM, and Digital Experience concepts relevant to pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, and diagnostics clients.
- Ability to engage consultatively across stakeholders, from sales teams to client executives.
- Strong research synthesis and analysis skills to convert market and client insights into compelling proposal content.
