Infrastructure Architect
location :Hartford CT
Job Summary
Serve as an Infrastructure Architect in a hybrid work model, designing and optimizing enterprise scale continuous integration environments built on Jenkins based platforms. Apply extensive experience to create resilient automation pipelines, improve reporting insights, and align infrastructure solutions with business reliability, security, and performance objectives across day shift operations.
Responsibilities
Design and architect scalable infrastructure solutions that support complex Jenkins based continuous integration environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability across hybrid deployment models. Oversee the implementation and evolution of Jenkins CI, Jenkins X, Jenkins CloudBees, and Jenkins OpenSource platforms to standardize automation practices and reduce build and deployment cycle times. Provide expert guidance on pipeline design, plugin selection, and configuration management to enhance stability, observability, and recoverability of automated workflows across multiple product teams. Coordinate with application engineering teams to integrate Jenkins based pipelines with source control, artifact repositories, and testing frameworks, ensuring smooth and secure end to end delivery processes. Optimize infrastructure resource utilization by analyzing build workloads, queue times, and executor usage, implementing right sized capacity planning strategies that support day shift operations without over allocation. Drive continuous improvement of reporting mechanisms by defining metrics, dashboards, and regular status reports that clearly communicate pipeline health, release readiness, and infrastructure performance to stakeholders. Ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards by implementing secure credentials management, access control policies, and audit ready logging across all Jenkins environments. Collaborate with cloud and on premises infrastructure teams to design resilient architectures that support high availability Jenkins controllers, distributed agents, and flexible hybrid deployment patterns. Mentor junior engineers on infrastructure as code principles and Jenkins ecosystem best practices, enabling consistent implementation of automation standards and faster onboarding to shared platforms. Establish robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures for Jenkins configurations and build data, reducing risk of service disruption and accelerating recovery in the event of incidents. Coordinate with operations and support functions to refine monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows, ensuring rapid resolution of pipeline failures and minimal impact on product delivery. Evaluate emerging tooling in the automation and reporting domains, assessing compatibility with existing Jenkins centric environments and proposing adoption plans that deliver measurable business value. Document infrastructure architectures, pipeline patterns, and operational procedures in a clear and reusable format, supporting knowledge sharing and consistent execution across global teams.
