Android Test Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, non-functional, and regression testing on Android devices across multiple OS versions and hardware configurations
  • Execute manual test cases on physical Android devices to validate application behavior, performance, and stability
  • Validate features against functional specifications, requirements, and user stories
  • Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for test execution and defect reporting
  • Log, track, and validate defects in a defect management tool (e.g., Jira or similar), including clear steps to reproduce and supporting evidence (logs/screenshots)
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to support defect triage, clarification, retesting, and closure
  • Design, create, and maintain detailed test cases based on requirements, specifications, and use cases; update as requirements or fixes change
  • Support test reporting (daily/weekly/cycle-level) and maintain test artifacts, execution status, defect summaries, and quality metrics
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and issues clearly to project stakeholders
  • Work closely with QA leads and cross-functional teams to ensure timely test execution and issue resolution across the project lifecycle

Qualifications and Skills

Required

  • Strong experience performing Android device testing
  • Good knowledge of executing tests on physical Android devices while following SOPs
  • Good ability to create and maintain test cases based on requirements and user stories
  • Strong defect management skills, including clear defect documentation and evidence collection (logs/screenshots)
  • Good experience supporting test reporting and maintaining test artifacts and metrics
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with QA leads, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • B.Tech or Engineering equivalent

Preferred

  • Fair understanding of Python scripts and test automation concepts
