Responsibilities
Design and develop robust enterprise applications using Progress 4GL and XML to support high volume transactional workflows and ensure stable performance across core business processes.Implement and refine decision services using Progress Corticon to translate complex business policies into maintainable rule sets that increase accuracy and reduce manual intervention.Analyze existing systems and integrations to identify optimization opportunities in code structure database access and rule execution patterns thereby improving efficiency and response times.Collaborate with business analysts and product teams to clarify requirements and transform them into detailed technical designs that align with organizational standards and regulatory expectations.Configure and maintain XML based interfaces and data transformations to enable reliable exchange of information between internal systems and external partner platforms.Conduct comprehensive unit and integration testing of Progress 4GL modules and Corticon rule flows to ensure predictable behavior resilience and low defect rates in production environments.Investigate production issues with disciplined root cause analysis and implement preventive fixes that strengthen application reliability and reduce future incident frequency.Document system designs rule logic data mappings and deployment procedures in a clear structured manner to support ongoing maintenance and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.Collaborate closely in a hybrid work model with engineering and operations teams to plan releases coordinate deployments and ensure smooth day to day application availability.Engage with stakeholders from asset and wealth management when applicable to understand portfolio processes client reporting needs and compliance constraints that influence technical solutions.Monitor application metrics and user feedback to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance usability scalability and alignment with company goals and client expectations.Adopt secure coding practices and adhere to enterprise governance standards so that applications support safe handling of sensitive financial data and contribute to trusted digital services.Provide guidance to peers on effective use of Progress Corticon Progress 4GL and XML patterns helping the team deliver consistent solutions that support long term platform evolution.
Qualifications
Demonstrate 12 to 14 years of hands on experience in designing building and maintaining applications using Progress 4GL with strong proficiency in structured coding and performance tuning.Show advanced capability in implementing and maintaining XML based data structures and integrations including schema design transformation logic and error handling for enterprise environments.Exhibit proven practical experience configuring and optimizing Progress Corticon rule flows including modeling complex business decisions testing scenarios and promoting rule changes across environments.Bring practical familiarity with asset and wealth management concepts such as account servicing portfolio operations and client reporting which helps align technical solutions with financial industry practices.Apply solid understanding of software development life cycle practices including requirement analysis technical design coding testing deployment and support within hybrid work arrangements.Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross functional teams and stakeholders ensuring that technical outcomes are clearly understood and support strategic objectives.Show commitment to quality security and compliance disciplines ensuring that solutions follow company policies relevant regulations and industry expectations for reliable financial technology.
Certifications Required
Progress OpenEdge Developer certification or equivalent credential in Progress technologies and XML based enterprise integration.
