About the role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Configurator Consultant to support the migration of product configuration capabilities from a legacy ERP platform to Oracle E-Business Suite R12.
This role will serve as the technical implementation owner for assigned Oracle Configurator deliverables, translating approved functional and technical specifications into maintainable Oracle Configurator models and rules. You will work closely with internal functional and technical leads, business stakeholders, and distributed delivery teams to support product selection, engineering, pricing, manufacturing, testing, deployment, and production stabilization.
In this role you will
- Participate in specification walkthroughs and clarification sessions to understand approved configurable-product structures, selection logic, engineering constraints, pricing behavior, and downstream manufacturing requirements.
- Review approved functional and technical specifications and implement legacy-to-Oracle mappings in Oracle Configurator.
- Build and maintain Configurator models, including model items, option classes, features, options, defaults, compatibility rules, validation rules, and guided-selling logic.
- Develop and troubleshoot configuration logic using Oracle Configurator Developer, standard rule templates, Configurator Design Charts/CDL, and Configurator Extensions.
- Design and maintain Oracle Configurator user interfaces supporting quoting and order-entry processes.
- Integrate and validate Oracle Configurator with Oracle Inventory, Bills of Material (BOM), Engineering, Order Management, Quoting, Advanced Pricing, WIP, Routings, and Planning.
- Validate configured-item creation, BOM and routing selection, order booking, pricing, lead-time and promised-date behavior, work-order or supply generation, shipment, and applicable costing touchpoints.
- Use SQL and PL/SQL to analyze configuration data, validate conversions, reconcile results, troubleshoot issues, and support defect resolution.
- Partner with internal leads and data-conversion teams to implement and validate model-related data, including items, option classes, component relationships, quantities, routings, pricing inputs, and configuration rules.
- Create and maintain technical configuration documents, build records, rule documentation, unit-test evidence, defect-resolution notes, deployment instructions, and support runbooks.
- Develop and execute technical test scenarios supporting unit testing, SIT, Conference Room Pilot (CRP), regression testing, and UAT.
- Support business-led validation and maintain traceability between approved requirements and tested Configurator behavior.
- Prepare Configurator models for review and approved promotion across Oracle environments.
- Support cutover, deployment, production stabilization, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate across functional and technical teams to proactively communicate risks, issues, and dependencies and ensure solutions remain maintainable and aligned with standard Oracle capabilities.
- Provide functional support as delegated by internal functional and technical leads.
