Job Summary
The Trade Compliance Coordinator supports global import and export operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal company policies. This role partners with Legal, Tax, Supply Chain, and Logistics teams to ensure the smooth movement of goods across borders while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide project management and subject matter expertise to support strategic business initiatives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Legal and Tax, to ensure import and export activities are conducted in a compliant manner.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and internal stakeholders to facilitate customs clearance and resolve shipment issues.
- Process Move Order Requests (MORs) across multiple warehouse locations.
- Review and validate commercial documentation associated with shipments to ensure compliance with shipping and trade requirements.
- Support the creation of manual trade documentation as required.
- Maintain brokerage performance reports and operational metrics.
- Review and approve commercial invoices for various order types.
- Coordinate, resolve, or escalate inbound international shipments held at customs.
- Conduct country-specific trade and compliance research for new and emerging markets.
- Manage location codes within internal commercial invoice and trade compliance systems.
- Monitor shipment requests and delivery confirmations through Supply Chain Portal requests and carrier updates.
- Manage order form entries through internal systems.
- Support Tax, Customs, Legal, and other regulatory audits.
- Review documentation provided by external partners to ensure compliance with FCPA and Anti-Bribery requirements.
- Perform due diligence reviews on third-party vendors and business partners.
- Monitor and manage PII requests and Denied Party Screening activities.
- Review and approve Commercial Invoices (CI), Packing Lists (PL), Air Waybills (AWB), and related trade documents within established service level agreements.
- Review and approve Dangerous Goods shipments in accordance with compliance requirements.
- Complete country research, classification, and valuation requests within required timelines.
- Provide timely responses and support for Tax, Customs, Legal, and compliance-related audits and inquiries.
Basic Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in logistics, trade compliance, import/export operations, inventory management, or warehouse management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong technology aptitude and proficiency with business applications and systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and highly organized.
- Experience working with customs brokers, logistics providers, and international shipping operations preferred.
- Knowledge of trade compliance regulations, customs processes, and import/export documentation is highly desirable.
Additionally, candidates must be fluent in English. Experience supporting global trade compliance operations and working with international cross-functional teams is highly valued for this role.
