We are seeking a Lead/Principal GCP Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to own the design, standardization, and operation of enterprise Google Cloud infrastructure at scale. This is a technical leadership role responsible for landing zone and platform architecture, automation and governance frameworks, reliability and cost optimization, and for guiding engineering teams and engaging senior stakeholders and vendors.
● Lead the design and implementation of GCP landing zones, organization/folder/project structures, and platform foundations using Organization Policies and the Cloud Architecture Framework.
● Defining and own infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform preferred) modules consumed across teams.
● Architect and govern networking at scale — Shared VPC, Network Connectivity Center, Cloud VPN/Interconnect, Cloud DNS, Private Service Connect, IPAM, and egress/SASE controls — within GCP service limits.
● Establish governance, security, and compliance frameworks — Organization Policies, IAM/identity models, Cloud KMS/Secret Manager strategy, VPC Service Controls, labels, and security baselines.
● Drive reliability engineering — multi-zone/multi-region HA and DR design, backup strategy, capacity/quota planning, observability, and SLOs.
● Own cloud cost governance (FinOps) — optimization strategy, budgeting, rightsizing, and chargeback/showback models.
● Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure programs and POCs, including orchestration/automation and migration/consolidation efforts.
● Provide technical leadership and mentoring; conduct architecture and code reviews; raise engineering maturity.
● Engage senior stakeholders, security/architecture review boards, and vendors (e.g., Google, Zscaler) on design validation and roadmap.
● Evaluate emerging GCP services and define adoption recommendations and standards.
● Lead complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for high-impact incidents, driving corrective/preventive actions.
What you must have to be considered
6–10 years in cloud infrastructure, with deep hands-on GCP expertise at enterprise scale.
Strong architecture experience across GCP compute, storage, networking, identity (IAM/Cloud Identity), and key managed services.
Expert-level Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) — framework/module design, CI/CD, and policy-as-code.
Proven experience with landing zones, multi-project governance, and resource-hierarchy/Organization Policy design.
Deep networking knowledge — hybrid connectivity, routing/BGP, segmentation, DNS, IPAM, and egress control; strong grasp of service limits and capacity planning.
Strong understanding of cloud security, zero-trust principles, governance, and compliance frameworks.
Experience leading delivery and mentoring engineers; strong stakeholder communication.
Automation proficiency (Python, Gcloud CLI).
These will help you succeed
● Multi-cloud exposure (Azure and/or AWS) and multi-cloud governance experience.
● Experience with containers (GKE), GitOps, and platform-engineering practices.
● Familiarity with egress/SASE tooling (e.g., Zscaler) and large-scale IP remediation.
● Exposure to orchestration-based provisioning and project-vending automation.
● Certifications: Google Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Network Engineer, or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
