Azure Data Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer with several years of experience to join our team in a remote capacity. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Azure data services along with strong domain knowledge in Investment Banking Operations. You will design, build, and maintain cloud‑based data solutions that support critical business processes, working closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration, performance, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cloud‑based data solutions using Azure SQL DB to improve data accessibility and performance.
- Build automated workflows and event‑driven processes using Azure Functions.
- Manage large‑scale data storage and processing using Azure Data Lake Store.
- Secure sensitive data and credentials through Azure Key Vault.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams using Azure DevOps to streamline CI/CD and delivery pipelines.
- Design, orchestrate, and optimize data pipelines with Azure Data Factory for seamless data integration.
- Apply investment banking operations knowledge to create domain‑aligned, high‑impact technical solutions.
- Ensure code quality, system performance, and reliability through testing, validation, and continuous monitoring.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for production systems.
- Identify opportunities for system enhancements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Stay current with emerging Azure technologies, cloud trends, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Several years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with strong proficiency in:
- Azure SQL DB
- Azure Functions
- Azure Data Lake Store
- Azure Key Vault
- Azure DevOps
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Data Factory
- Background in investment banking operations or brokerage environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing, data management, and distributed systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability to evolving technologies and business needs.
