Job Summary
The Service Manager will oversee the management and optimization of mainframe services ensuring seamless operations and high-quality service delivery. With a focus on Mainframe CoolGen/CA Gen IBM Mainframe Utilities and IT Service Management the role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. The candidate will work from the office during day shifts contributing to the companys goals and societal impact through efficient service management.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize mainframe services to ensure seamless operations and high-quality service delivery.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement IT Service Management practices effectively.
- Utilize Mainframe CoolGen/CA Gen and IBM Mainframe Utilities to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain documentation for service management processes and procedures.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align service management strategies with business objectives.
- Implement best practices for IMS DB and JCL to improve data management and processing efficiency.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze service metrics and generate reports to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between technical teams and business units.
- Facilitate training sessions to upskill team members on mainframe technologies and service management practices.
Qualifications
- Possess strong expertise in Mainframe CoolGen/CA Gen and IBM Mainframe Utilities.
- Demonstrate proficiency in IT Service Management and its application in mainframe environments.
- Have a solid understanding of IMS DB JCL and Cobol programming.
- Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Show experience in managing cross-functional teams and coordinating service management activities.
- Display strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
- Hold a relevant certification in IT Service Management or mainframe technologies.
Certifications Required
ITIL Foundation Certification Certified Mainframe Professional
