Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior / Lead QA Playwright Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust automation solutions for web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Playwright, API automation, SQL, cross-browser testing, and modern test automation frameworks.

The candidate will work closely with development, product, and QA teams in an Agile environment, contribute to quality engineering strategies, and provide technical leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Shift Timing: 12.00 PM – 10.00 PM IST

Work Location: Chennai / Bangalore / Hyderabad / Pune / Coimbatore / Pune / Kolkata / Noida

Key Requirements:

  • 4–10 years of professional experience in software quality assurance and test automation for web and mobile applications.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience with Playwright is must.
  • Strong programming experience in at least one language such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript.
  • Proven ability to design and build test automation frameworks from scratch and select appropriate tools and frameworks based on project requirements.
  • Strong experience in API automation testing using REST Assured.
  • Good knowledge of relational databases with the ability to write complex SQL queries using Oracle Database or other relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience with cross-browser testing and automation using platforms such as BrowserStack and Sauce Labs.
  • Experience with functional, regression, integration, and API testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD practices, and modern software development processes.
  • Knowledge of Git/GitHub and version-control best practices is good to have.
  • Exposure to Generative AI/GenAI tools and applications is an added advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance scalable test automation frameworks for web and mobile applications.
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and appropriate programming languages.
  • Design and execute functional, regression, integration, and API automation tests.
  • Develop and maintain API automation suites using REST Assured.
  • Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate backend data and application workflows.
  • Perform cross-browser and cross-platform testing using BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, automation efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Define, track, analyze, and report Quality Engineering metrics.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
  • Analyze test failures, troubleshoot issues, investigate defects, and work closely with developers to drive resolution.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, business analysts, and other QA engineers in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Provide technical leadership in automation strategy, framework architecture, and testing best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Participate in test planning, estimation, risk assessment, and release readiness activities.
  • Continuously evaluate and introduce modern testing tools, technologies, and best practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Git/GitHub, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  • Exposure to GenAI-based testing tools and productivity solutions.
  • Knowledge in Healthcare domain is added advantage.
