About the role
As a Senior QA Automation Engineer – Insurance Platforms, you will make an impact by ensuring the quality, reliability, and regulatory alignment of new business, underwriting, and policy issuance solutions across the FAST/Hexure insurance platform and its integrated applications. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with business analysts, developers, product stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams.
In this role, you will:
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and reusable framework components using Java, Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, and TestNG for FAST/Hexure and its integrated insurance workflows.
• Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of new business, e-application, underwriting, policy issuance, and product configuration processes.
• Validate data exchange and end-to-end workflows across FAST/Hexure, SuranceBay, and FireLight, including agent licensing, appointments, electronic applications, and electronic signature processes.
• Develop API automation and validate backend data integrity, business rules, forms, and compliance requirements associated with life insurance and Fixed Indexed Annuity products.
• Integrate automated test suites with Jenkins or Azure DevOps pipelines, support quality gates, manage defects through resolution, and contribute to user acceptance testing and production validation activities.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring three days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Boston, Massachusetts. What you need to have to be considered
• Eight or more years of experience in quality engineering, software testing, or test automation, including functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Hands-on experience designing and maintaining test automation solutions using Java, Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, TestNG, or comparable automation technologies.
• Experience testing FAST/Hexure or similar insurance new business, underwriting, and policy administration platforms.
• Experience with API automation, backend data validation, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of life insurance or annuity processes, including new business, underwriting, policy issuance, business rules, product configuration, and regulatory requirements.
These will help you stand out
• Experience testing integrations involving SuranceBay, FireLight, or other insurance distribution and electronic application platforms.
• Knowledge of Fixed Indexed Annuity products and their associated forms, business rules, and compliance requirements.
• Experience building data-driven or behavior-driven automation frameworks with reusable components.
• Experience preparing test plans, test cases, requirements traceability matrices, and release-quality documentation.
• Strong stakeholder communication, defect-management, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $71,100– $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
