A Salesforce Project Manager leads the planning and delivery of Salesforce implementation, enhancement, and optimisation projects across platforms such as Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. This role is responsible for defining project scope, managing timelines and budgets, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring solutions are delivered in line with business requirements and platform best practices. The role also supports stakeholder communication, delivery governance, risk management, and quality outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and delivery schedules for Salesforce initiatives.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to define scope, priorities, and success criteria.
- Lead Agile delivery ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives where applicable.
- Track project risks, issues, dependencies, and resource requirements, and drive timely resolution or escalation.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including business analysts, developers, testers, administrators, and external partners to support successful delivery.
- Monitor project progress, budget, and quality metrics, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Support user acceptance testing, deployment planning, and post-go-live stabilisation activities.
- Promote Salesforce platform best practices, governance standards, and continuous improvement across project delivery.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Demonstrated experience managing enterprise technology or CRM implementation projects, including hands-on delivery oversight for Salesforce initiatives.
- Salesforce knowledge: Good understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, particularly Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud.
- Project delivery: Working knowledge of project management approaches such as Agile, Scrum, SAFe, or Waterfall, depending on delivery needs.
- Stakeholder management: Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project sponsors.
- Tools: Experience using delivery and project tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Microsoft Project.
Required certification: Salesforce Administrator certification.
- Preferred certifications: Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant and/or Service Cloud Consultant certifications.
- Delivery capability:
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, balance priorities, and support teams in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Communication skills: Clear verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Problem solving: Ability to identify issues, assess impact, and drive practical solutions with relevant stakeholders.
