Functional SME–Mortgage Platform
About the role
As a Senior Functional SME within Cognizant, you will step into one of the most strategically critical roles in large-scale banking transformation programmes. You will be the connective tissue between client business stakeholders, product vendors, integration teams, and delivery squads — ensuring that the right functional solutions are designed, adopted, and implemented end-to-end.
In this role,
you will:
- Lead and manage end-to-end implementation engagements across Mortgage and Banking transformation programmes — from Discovery through to Go-Live
- Conduct and facilitate Process Led Workshops (PLWs) with clients and third-party vendors, driving alignment across business and IT stakeholders
- Perform hands-on platform configuration and functional validation to ensure requirements are accurately fulfilled at a grass-roots level
- Lead Gap-Fit analysis and Adopt vs. Adapt discussions, positively influencing business and IT decision-makers to reach sound functional outcomes
- Review, contribute to, and approve key project deliverables including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), and project plans
- Work collaboratively with integration, testing, design, and development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Apply appropriate implementation methodologies — including Waterfall and Agile (including ceremonies) — based on programme needs
Work model
Onsite – This role requires presence at the client or Cognizant office in Amsterdam. We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible and support a healthy work-life balance through various wellbeing programs.
What you need to have to be considered
· 12–15+ years of experience in platform implementation within banking domains.
· Expertise in Dutch mortgage processes and platforms.
· Strong experience in PLW facilitation and requirement configuration within platforms.
· Ability to influence stakeholders on solution design and implementation strategies.
· Hands-on experience with integration concepts in SaaS environments.
· Knowledge of Dutch language is a strong advantage.
· Education: Engineering Graduate / MBA / Professional Degree / Postgraduate.

· Experience in coordinating UAT and managing multi-stakeholder engagements.
· Exposure to microservices architecture and API-driven integrations.
· Thought leadership in banking transformation and product consulting.
