About the role
As an Executive – Indirect Taxes, you will make an impact by managing and supporting GST litigation and compliance activities while ensuring Cognizant’s adherence to evolving indirect tax regulations. As a valued member of the Global Indirect Tax team, you will work collaboratively with finance and business stakeholders to address regulatory requirements, manage audits, and support effective resolution of GST matters, contributing to the organization’s compliance and governance objectives.
In this role, you will:
- Actively manage and support litigation related to Goods and Services Tax (GST).
- Assist in preparing and responding to Show Cause Notices (SCNs) and other communications from the GST authorities.
- Address technical GST‑related queries raised by internal business and finance teams.
- Interact with GST department officials to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution of queries and matters.
- Collaborate closely with other finance functions to gather and analyze data required for responding to departmental notices and audits.
- Participate in GST audits and support discussions with tax authorities.
- Stay updated on changes in GST laws, rules, and notifications, and ensure timely adoption of relevant changes.
- Support the organization in maintaining strong compliance and governance standards in indirect taxation.
What you need to have to be considered
- 3–5 years of experience in an indirect tax role, with hands‑on exposure to GST litigation and related activities.
- Strong and practical knowledge of GST law and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with proven ability to draft responses to Show Cause Notices, appeals, and related documents.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams.
- Attention to detail and a structured approach to handling regulatory and compliance matters.

Work Model
