Job Duties:
- Lead the mechanical hardware design and delivery of instrumentation and control cabinets and consoles for nuclear power plants
- Define mechanical hardware requirements for new mechanical components
- Design mechanical hardware components, such as cabinets, consoles, brackets, enclosures, test fixtures, and other related hardware:
- Cabinet layout
- Mechanical assembly drawings
- Front Panel designs
- Wiring diagrams and associated documentation for internal cabinet wiring
- Internal cabinet wire routing
- Harness board drawings - as required
- Installation drawings and instruction
- Collaborate with system engineers and electrical hardware engineers to model the system and generate electromechanical drawings
- Test mechanical hardware prototypes for fit-up; analyze and document the results
- Work with sub-tier suppliers (through supply chain) to ensure that procured components meet the system requirements.
- Assist in the structural analysis to ensure successful equipment qualification.
- Assist in the development of the Maintenance and Troubleshooting Technical Manual
- Communicate with the customer and internal management as a technical expert to achieve cost effective, technically compliant solutions.
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience
- Experience with 3D CAD tools, such as SOLIDWORKS
- Experience in support of manufacturing including but not limited to purchasing, quality control, manufacturing engineering and test
- Experience working on safety related I&C system development projects (or equiv.), including equipment qualification, commercial grade dedication, and system implementation and test, is highly desirable
- Experience creating drawing packages that define large, complex assemblies such as I&C cabinets with nested bills of materials is highly desirable
