We are seeking a highly skilled Technology Architect with deep expertise in SAP BW and SAP HANA to join our team. This role focuses on data extraction, transformation, modeling, and analytics to support enterprise reporting and business intelligence needs. The position offers the opportunity to work on modern SAP landscapes in a collaborative, hybrid work environment with no travel requirements.

About the Role

In this role, you will serve as a key technical expert driving the design, development, and optimization of SAP BW and SAP HANA solutions. You will work closely with functional and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable analytics solutions supporting critical business processes across finance, supply chain, human resources, and other domains.

In This Role, You Will

  • Design and implement data extraction, modeling, and analytics solutions using SAP BW 7.x and SAP HANA.
  • Work with both standard and generic extractors to ingest data from SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA modules, including FI/CO, FM, MM, and HR.
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, and reporting to support enterprise analytics and decision-making.
  • Develop, analyze, and debug complex ABAP programs, including user exits, BAPIs, RFCs, and CDS Views.
  • Build HANA models using analytical views and calculation views, and expose data through OData services where applicable.
  • Develop and support reporting and analytics solutions using BEx Query Designer and Analysis for Office.
  • Support SAP BO reporting solutions to meet business reporting requirements.
  • Execute SAP BW on HANA data load testing, troubleshoot critical data load issues, and resolve integration issues with SAP S/4HANA systems migrated from ECC.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Ensure solution quality, performance, and reliability through testing, validation, and ongoing optimization.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

  • 10 to 14 years of hands-on experience in SAP BW and SAP HANA technologies.
  • Strong experience in data extraction, data modeling, and analytics within SAP BW 7.x and SAP HANA environments.
  • Proficiency in working with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA source systems across FI/CO, FM, MM, and HR modules.
  • Strong ABAP knowledge with the ability to debug and support complex technical objects.
  • Hands-on experience with HANA modeling, calculation views, and enterprise reporting tools.
  • Experience supporting BW on HANA data loads and resolving data integration issues in S/4HANA landscapes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa support.

  • Experience with SAP BPC.
  • Exposure to SAP BW/4HANA conversions or modernization initiatives.
  • SAP BO reporting experience beyond standard reporting scenarios.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • SAP BW/4HANA certification.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $83,250- $112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
