JD: Smartsheet Technical Expert & Implementation Consultant (10–12 Years)
Role Title: Smartsheet Technical Expert / Senior Implementation Consultant (Smartsheet)
Experience: 10–12 years (with 5+ years hands-on Smartsheet delivery strongly preferred)
Role Summary
We are looking for a Smartsheet Technical Expert & Implementation Consultant who can lead end-to-end Smartsheet implementations, migrations, and platform optimization for enterprise customers. You will drive technical design, solution architecture, integrations, automation, governance, and operationalization. You will partner with business stakeholders and delivery teams to build scalable, secure, high-performing Smartsheet solutions aligned to business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Delivery
• Lead end-to-end Smartsheet implementations: discovery → design → build → UAT → deployment → hypercare.
• Define platform architecture including workspace strategy, sheet design patterns, scalability, performance, and reuse.
• Build complex solutions using:
o Control Centre (blueprints, program rollouts, portfolio structures)
o Data Shuttle / DataMesh for data movement & consolidation
o Dynamic View for controlled access
o WorkApps for persona-based experience
Automation, Integrations & Migration
• Design and implement advanced automation workflows, approval flows, reminders, conditional routing, and cross-sheet logic.
• Lead Smartsheet migration from Excel/SharePoint/legacy trackers/tools (Jira, MS Project, etc.) to Smartsheet:
o mapping, data cleansing, validation, cutover planning, and rollback strategy
• Build integrations using:
o Smartsheet REST APIs, webhooks, and connectors
o Integration platforms (Power Automate, Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, Zapier, as applicable)
• Develop scripts and utilities (as needed) for data transformation, bulk updates, metadata management.
Governance, Security & Administration
• Establish and enforce governance: naming conventions, templates, workspace hierarchy, retention, permissions model.
• Define role-based access, security controls, and audit readiness for enterprise deployments.
• Own platform administration: user provisioning, group strategy, workspace permissions, license optimization.
Reporting & Analytics
• Create executive-level dashboards with metrics, drilldowns, program rollups, and operational insights.
• Define KPI frameworks and ensure reliable reporting across portfolios/programs.
Enablement & Consulting
• Provide technical consulting to stakeholders: best practices, design reviews, technical feasibility.
• Create solution documentation: architecture, configuration guides, SOPs, runbooks.
• Train admins, power users, and project teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• 10–12 years overall experience in enterprise solution delivery / platforms / workflow automation.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Smartsheet (implementation + optimization).
• Strong knowledge of Smartsheet advanced capabilities:
o Control Centre, Dynamic View, Data Shuttle/DataMesh, WorkApps, Resource Management (preferred)
• Experience with integrations via APIs, connectors, or automation platforms (Power Automate, etc.).
• Experience in migration planning and execution, data mapping, cleansing, and validation.
• Solid understanding of enterprise governance (security, access, audit, retention, templates).
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Preferred / Good to Have
• Smartsheet certifications (Core / Admin / Solution Consultant) – preferred.
• Experience in regulated environments (Life Sciences, Pharma, BFSI) – preferred.
• Agile delivery exposure; familiarity with Jira/Azure DevOps.
• Basic scripting skills (Python/JavaScript) helpful for API automation.
