Job Summary
The Accessibility Consultant will play a pivotal role in ensuring digital platforms meet accessibility standards. With expertise in HTML 5 JavaScript and accessibility remediation the consultant will drive inclusive design and compliance for web accessibility in a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement accessibility standards across digital platforms.
- Conduct accessibility audits to identify gaps and recommend actionable solutions for improvement.
- Develop and maintain accessible web components using HTML 5 and JavaScript.
- Provide expert guidance on document accessibility and remediation techniques to ensure compliance.
- Evaluate existing web applications and suggest enhancements for improved accessibility.
- Create detailed reports on accessibility findings and remediation strategies for stakeholders.
- Train and mentor teams on web accessibility best practices and guidelines.
- Stay updated on evolving accessibility standards and technologies to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with designers and developers to integrate accessibility into the development lifecycle.
- Advocate for inclusive design principles to enhance user experience for all individuals.
- Test and validate web applications using assistive technologies to ensure usability.
- Ensure adherence to WCAG guidelines and other relevant accessibility standards.
- Monitor and track accessibility improvements to measure progress and impact. Qualifications
- Possess strong expertise in HTML 5 and JavaScript to develop accessible web solutions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in document accessibility and remediation techniques.
- Exhibit knowledge of web accessibility standards including WCAG and ARIA.
- Have experience in conducting accessibility audits and implementing remediation strategies.
- Showcase ability to collaborate with diverse teams to drive accessibility initiatives.
- Display excellent problem-solving skills to address accessibility challenges effectively.
- Bring a passion for inclusive design and improving digital experiences for all users.
- Hold a minimum of 8 years of experience in accessibility consulting or related roles.
- Exhibit strong communication skills to convey accessibility concepts to stakeholders.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a hybrid work model.
- Stay committed to continuous learning and adapting to new accessibility technologies.
- Have a proven track record of delivering accessibility solutions that align with business goals.

Certifications Required
Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS)
