Role: SENIOR Devops Lead – Experience on Kubernetes

Location: Candidates will need to work out of the Client’s office in New York in a hybrid mode.

About the Role

Deep hands-on experience with managed Kubernetes platforms across major cloud providers, including:

    • Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) – cluster architecture, networking, security, upgrades, and operations
    • Amazon EKS – control plane and worker node architecture, networking (VPC, CNI), security, and scaling
    • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) – cluster design, identity integration, networking, and lifecycle management
    • Hands-on experience with hybrid and edge Kubernetes platforms, such as:
      • Google Distributed Cloud (GDC)
      • AWS Outposts / EKS Anywhere
      • Azure Arc-enabled Kubernetes
        Including fleet management, hybrid connectivity, and centralized governance.
    • Strong Kubernetes expertise across all environments:
      • Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, Ingress Controllers, PV/PVC, ConfigMaps, Secrets
      • Autoscaling (HPA/VPA), Pod Disruption Budgets, resource quotas
      • Container runtime fundamentals and cluster-level security best practices
    • Extensive experience deploying containerized applications using Helm charts across Dev, QA, UAT, Staging, and Production environments in multi-cloud setups.
    • Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using:
      • GitHub Actions (GitHub Workflows)
      • Integration with cloud-native services such as AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline, Azure DevOps, or Google Cloud Build
    • Hands-on Docker experience:
      • Image design and optimization
      • Multi-stage builds
      • Vulnerability scanning and image hardening
      • Managing and consuming images from artifact registries such as GCR/Artifact Registry, Amazon ECR, and Azure Container Registry
    • Strong troubleshooting skills across Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure:
      • Networking (CNI, load balancers, ingress controllers, DNS)
      • Container and pod failures
      • Node and cluster-level issues
      • Cross-cloud observability and monitoring tools

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for the position is between $110,000/year - $130,000/year and depends on experience and other qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
