About the role
As an IBM DataPower Gateway Consultant, you will make an impact by designing, supporting, and optimizing secure API gateway and integration services using IBM DataPower. You will be a valued member of the Integration and Middleware team and work collaboratively with architects, DevOps teams, and application stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing gateway solutions.


In this role, you will:

  • Develop and enhance IBM DataPower services using XSLT, GatewayScript, and platform capabilities

  • Provide L3 production support by troubleshooting issues, applying fix packs, and resolving complex DataPower incidents

  • Analyze, optimize, and maintain existing DataPower services to improve performance, reliability, and scalability

  • Design and implement automation and CI/CD pipelines for DataPower deployments

  • Collaborate with teams to design solutions, conduct POCs, and guide implementation of secure gateway services

What you need to have to be considered

  • Strong experience in IBM DataPower Gateway development

  • Hands-on expertise in XSLT and GatewayScript programming

  • Proven experience in L3 production support and troubleshooting

  • Experience in DataPower issue diagnosis, fix packs, and resolution

  • Experience with automation and CI/CD pipelines for deployment


These will help you stand out

  • Experience conducting POCs and implementing new DataPower features

  • Knowledge of Python scripting, SQL reporting, and Excel-based analysis

  • Experience in API gateway optimization and service performance tuning

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to mentor and guide cross-functional teams


Work model: Must be based in Canada and willing to work out of a Cognizant Canadian office

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $83,500 – 105,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
