About the role
As a Business Architect – Claims & Dispute Management, you will make an impact by shaping and leading the business architecture and adoption of Agentic AI–enabled transformation across claims and dispute operations for banking and financial services clients. You will be a valued member of Cognizant Consulting’s Banking & Financial Services team and work collaboratively with client executives, operations leaders, technology teams, and regulatory stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Define and own the business architecture for AI-enabled claims and dispute management across the end-to-end value chain, from intake through resolution, recovery, and regulatory reporting.
- Design target operating models that embed Agentic AI capabilities into core workflows, balancing automation, risk controls, and human oversight.
- Lead business case development for AI initiatives, clearly articulating value, ROI, risk considerations, and strategic alignment for senior client leadership.
- Partner with business, technology, legal, and compliance stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements and operational constraints into actionable business designs.
- Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across claims intake, dispute adjudication, fraud detection, customer communications, and recovery, ensuring strong business outcomes and adoption.

What you must have to be considered
- 7-10 years of experience in Banking and Financial Services, with exposure to retail banking, cards, lending, or insurance.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in claims and dispute management operations or large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Proven experience leading AI, intelligent automation, or digital transformation programs with accountability for business outcomes.
- Strong expertise in business architecture, capability modeling, and target operating model design.
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders, lead workshops, and influence decision-making across complex organizations.
These will help you succeed
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting claims and disputes (e.g., CFPB, Regulation E, Regulation Z, or global equivalents).
- Experience translating regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements into AI-enabled operating models.
- Strong consulting skills, including executive communication, problem framing, and prioritization.
- Thought leadership mindset with the ability to educate clients on emerging AI capabilities and practical business applications.
Compensation
The annual salary for this position is expected to range from $110,000 – $129,500, depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
